Astronomy Tower

"Same..." I give him a small smile, looking down.

"Mind if I ask what you came here to think about?" he asked curiously.

I shrug, "Oh, it's nothing really... I'm just worried about my sister, that's all..."

He decided to let her, partiallly, in on what he was thinking about. "I was thinking about how I'm going to prove myself to a girl. I really, really like her, possibly even love her, and I screwed up. Now I've got to make it better."

My eyes widen, "Wow... It's good you care enough for her to try and make it right again."

"I feel terrible. I hurt her. I pushed her away, I think I lost her, but I'm going to get her back." He looked down at his hands in his pockets, his left one in particular, and scowled. He would make this right.

"Don't worry, if you stay confident you'll for sure make things right." I give him the best reassuring smile I can.

He looked up at her and smiled. "Thanks, you're the first person to say something nice to me in a long time." He held out his right hand. "I'm Tide. You?"

I shake his hand, "Sarah. Why haven't people been nice to you?"

He pulled his hand back and put it back in his pocket. "I haven't talked to my friends in a while. The only people that I've talked to, this is indirectly, is my ex. She obviously had nothing good to say about me. She even convinced a few people that I was a terrible person."

I give him a sympathetic frown, being a lot like my mother. "I'm sorry... That REALLY sucks."

"But, I can get through it."

What would've happened if I hadn't accepted Death's offer? Would me and Mer be back together? I know she wouldn't hate me as much as she does now.

"Yeah, I bet you can..." I look down, wishing I could get over my sister's decisions but I just... Can't.

"So, what's wrong with your sister? Is she in some sort of trouble?"

"Sort of... Maybe... I think so." I sigh, "She's been following her fiance everywhere and getting herself into trouble... They both lied to me for a bit, and now I don't trust her future husband, and it just... Worries me."

"You're worried that she may be marrying the wrong man." He didn't say that as a question, it was evident in Sarah's tone. "What kind of trouble is she getting into? Death Eater trouble?"

He clenched his left fist subconsciously. He hated the Death Eaters, but he hated himself more because he had joined them.

"Well... He's been good for her as far as lifting her confidence and happiness, but... I don't know, after all that's happened, I just don't trust him. They acted as if betraying the Strayer family, busted into the Ministry, and now they're who knows where?"

"Maybe she thinks that what she's doing with him is the right thing to do. From what I hear he hasn't been all too bad for her." He shrugged. He didn't know enough about the two of them to make a full judgement.

I sigh, "I guess you're right... My mom has told me the same kind of thing."

"The most invaluable lessons can't be taught through a textbook, but through life experiences."

OOC I swear I don't know where most of this insight comes from. I feel like a genious when I write it though.

IC I take in his words, then finally look up. "I'll try and work to forgive him..."

"Maybe you should also work towards accepting him. If she loves him enough to marry him then you need to accept her judgement and accept him as well. Otherwise there will never be harmony between you." He reached out and touched her shoulder lightly.

"Yeah, that's a very good point... He is a Strayer, after all..."

"I know that this is going to go against what I just said, but don't judge someone based on their name alone." He laughed. "I'm sorry, I'm a massive hippocrite sometimes."

I laugh, "It's all right... I'm sure we're all hypocritical at one point of our lives."
