Okay, so the quidditch match is gonna take place on Wednesday. I'll post here again just before it starts.

So I was thinking of a new approach the DE could take be a more organized power. Perhaps a DE Council could be formed rather than Crouch having sole autocracy.

Anyone think this is a good idea?

Donia would definitely agree to this. but would Crouch have supremacy over the council or would they all be equal? Because Donia just wants to do the Dark Lord's wishes efficiently, she doesnt care about much else.

Okay. A few questions:

1. How would this be formed? Would it be democratic, like they vote for people and those people have a higher power than others? Or would it be whoever just kicks more ass gets to be on the council?

2. What would be the main purpose of this DE Council?

I think it's a great idea, I just don't think Death'll be too into it. He's not one for accepting loads of power and he doesn't like politics. (neither do I for that matter)

My thinking is equal share of power, democratically voted on, and each one gets a job, for example head of recruitment, offense, etc.

The main purpose would be bringing up DE business and making collective decisions for the betterment of the DE from ALL aspects.

everyone would just vote Crouch into power, mainly because nobody will care that much and noone else would want to 'lead' it.

Donia's a communist, sort of. Although Voldy is her supreme overlord, she sees no one else as better or worse than her... she'd go with this i think.

Not unless Crouch initiates it, to purposefully lessen his power as it went to his head when he did have it.

They'd have to all get together and talk about this. If Crouch says that he doesn't want to be overlord of all things DE then they'll probably have to talk it out and figure out who will be the overlord. Because, think about it, organizations like this don't work out if someone doesn't step up and take charge.

i dont think there needs to be one. As long as there's Voldy in the cards it should work.

Not necessarily. Even though they all report to Voldemort they don't interact with him much. He doesn't hover. So without someone making all the kinda major decisions there will be arguments and fights and all.

There needs to be one person in charge. We can do this diplomatically and have them vote for someone in charge to keep the peace and stuff. Or, as I mentioned earlier, they can just fight it out and whoever wins makes all the decisions.

well i'm sorry but having one person overlord it wasn't exactly working for them before (still isnt now) and i dont think making a bloodbath is going to help them.

They're all DE at the end of the day, in Voldy's eyes theyre all the same, status wise they're identical anyway.

The school's changed, why aren't the DE changing with it? the tactics theyve employed now are clearly failing.

council = groups and BALANCED decisions. prevents overconfidence and everyone slaughtering each other.

basically, i'm all for this.

Here's my thoughts on positions.

There's not just one 'Head'. There's 'Heads' of different divisions.

DIVISION:

Head of Recruitment:
Duties: They're responsible for the recruitment of new students into the Death Eater Ranks. They basically act as the Death Eater's public relations, serving to deceive the populace into following their ways.


Head of Hunting:
Duties: They're responsible for the elimination of the enemies of the Dark Lord, be it mudbloods or blood traitors. They're basically the militant wing of the death eater's occupation, coming up with strategies and leading battles against the Dark Lord's enemies.

Head of Reconnaissance:
Duties: They're the information masters of the Death Eaters. It's their job to gather intel on their enemies via spies or other underhanded ways and to then inform the Council of their findings and advise action.

Head of Dark Knowledge:
Duties: These are at the forefront of the Dark Arts, experimenting with new uses of it and creating new spells to aid their sinister compatriots in their conquest. They also make a point to archive their findings for future generations.

These are just ones I thought up. If you have suggestions for more of them, let me know the name and their duties
