Blinded by her grief, she crept back to the scene of the battle, the area where she'd lost so many of her loved ones. Reluctantly, she lifted their bodies, knowing it was a job she had to do, nobody else would do it.

Meredia had fallen asleep by Amaya's side, fist curled loosely in her sister's hair. Her mouth was slightly agape, forming a sweet and innocent 'o' in her slumber. It was a harrowing sight, knowing all the calm that was on Mer's face would be lost as soon as she woke up.

Sighing again, Ace hauled her remaining sister over her shoulder, careful not to disturb her. She proceeded to pick up Amaya's body, pausing for a moment.

She could've sworn..

Ace peered down at her sister, frowning. Her hand travelled to the girl's heart. It was definitely there, she hadn't been imagining it.

A pulse.

Tears of joy started streaming down her face, glistening in the rising sun, and laughter escaped her lips. 'SOMEBODY GET HER TO THE HOSPITAL WING! SHE'S FUCKING ALIVE!' For that moment, Ace forgot about her other siblings, shedding the blanket of numbness that had wrapped around her over the past few hours.

Amaya had survived.

Phoenix: I stir against Pixie's side, frowning and burying my face further into her shoulder. "Nix," she mutters, poking me. "Nix... Did you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"Amaya's... That kid said she's ali-"

I sit bolt upright, eyes wide. "What?!"

'oh my merlin May, oh my merlin...' she repeated her phrase, tugging the girl into her arms and latching on to her. Amaya wasn't responding though, she was barely breathing.

He stood up slowly, his joints popping and his muscles stiff. He walked over to her stiffly. "You should get her to the Hospital Wing." He bent down and put his arms under Amaya's limp body. He lifted her up and stood up straight. "I'll go with you."

Meredia nodded for Ace to leave, remaining by Sydnay and Bryn's side. She loved both equally now, almost wishing Sydnay hadn't found a conscience so she'd still be alive.

He began walking to the Hospital Wing. He looked back a few times at Bryn's body laying on the ground. After the last peek he turned his head around sharply and bit his lip to keep from crying again.

Almost hesitantly, Ace followed, she would see them again anyway.

'its ok to be upset' Mer murmured to herself, just contemplating her loss with an ominous detachment. She'd have to wait until someone could help move them..

Confident the villains had fled, Artemis, Eugene, and Topherrun back to the group,

Topher: "MAY!!" I run up to her.

Eugene: I ready my wand and prepare to contemplate her treatment.

Artemis: "oh thank god! Another survivor!"

Mer was happy, but she couldn't help feel a twinge of bitterness as she didn't leave her deceased family's side. 'Sydnay and Bryn are still dead..' she whispered to herself, voice cracking.

Ace had a hold of her sister, arm slung around her. 'She's hardly breathing.' Don't take her to mungos, she hates hospitals, as do i. a frown creased her forehead, worried.

Topher: "looks like you need some treatment yaself doc."

Eugene: "my injuries are minor next to others."

Meredia just stared in their direction blankly, words not registering in her ears. She simply coughed when she realized she wasn't leaving her deceased alone. What am i supposed to do now?

'Amaya's not going to hospital, she'd hate you for it.' Ace was almost as blunt as the unconscious girl wrapped around her shoulders. Amaya was actually quite heavy, even stripped of her weapons belt.
