Crouch's Redemption (RP)

"Go forth then, and carry out my commands. But I'd advise haste. Nagini hates to be depraved of a meal twice."

Another quick, pained gasp.
The Russian again pressed through the pain, grabbing his scarf, holding his jacket tight, pressing against the wounds as he stood shakily, gave a clumsy bow, and stumbled out, to return to hogwarts, to get himself healed.

Back at Hogwarts, Crouch is talking out his plans with Cynder, however among his plots he makes no reference to saving Jack's wife even as a passing thought.

Cynder didn't mention anything about the lack of mention of Sally, though she listened intently to Crouch, nodding here and there to show him she was underestanding.

Her attention was pulled away from a moment as she saw a familiar being walk- or was that a limp...?- toward them.
He was dripping a potion, which must have been dittany, over heavily bleeding wounds.

"... Ivan..?"

I just watch him with complete apathy, he tried to kill me, why should I be concerned with his well being?

Cynder moved to where Ivan was, taking the Dittany almost instantly and helping lead him to where Crouch and her were, so he could sit.

She pushed at his clothing, dropping Dittany over his wounds- though it didn't seem to fully heal. It was bizzare.

"What the hell happened to you, Ivan?"

"Had a mere conversation, da. Somehow got in a bit of a fight..."

Cynder looked over her shoulder, eyes dark.
"... Crouch... go on, I'm still listening..."

I look over his wounds and see one that is VERY familiar but luckily I've never been on the receiving end of. I shoot a curse at Ivan to knock him out of his seat.

"And I'm not supposed to recognize a snake bite, correct?"

Ivan gave a short gasp of shock, landing on the ground painfully, groaning.
The curse hurt, but this... this was a way to work out his plan.


Cynder shot up to move by Ivan again, looking at Crouch with pure confusion and upset.
"Crouch? What in the hell..!?"

"He's spoken with the Dark Lord, and it seems things went south..." I gesture to the bite wound.

Ivan pushed himself to sit up, grimacing, his purpleish blue eyes twisted in pain.

"da, da, so what?"
He groaned, lying easily and as smoothly and easily as saying hello.
"Went south, I left him. That's that, got out just in time..."


Cynder looked at Crouch, her eyes twisted into frustration as she turned to look over the wounds again.

I chuckle humorously, "The Dark Lord must be loosing his edge if he's allowed TWO renegades to live...."

"You don't believe me,"

Ivan gave a wide-eyed, almost hurt look as he coughed again, the wound hurting more and more, as Cynder tried to drip dittany on it.

The girl herself paused to look at Crouch with a disbelievingly upset expression.
"You were a death eater- how do you mend these, they aren't normal snake bites!"

i let out a snort, "That isn't my question to ponder now is it?"

"If he was so weak as to let this happen to him, he can't be of much use to me."

Even though I was fighting for a different cause now, my callousness to the suffering of others and appreciation for only a person's use was still present. I had no mercy in me still.

Cynder shot straight up, from kneeling next to Ivan.
"Now see here, Crouch!"

She spoke sternly, marching right up to him and glaring him in the eye.

"Ivan is just as human as you or I. A few days ago, you would have welcomed him like a brother. And now you discard him, leave him to die? You're pathetic. Tell me how to heal him... now..."

"How should I know? I've never been bitten by a snake." I shrug indifferently.

"And anyone who gets in my way is my enemy, I don't care about prior connections."

The girl turned away from Crouch, to return to Ivan to begin trying to use healing charms and dittany on the wounds.
The Russian eyed Crouch coldly, cruelly.

Cynder was tense, and was that even a little bit of a shudder, a tremble, in her shoulders?
She wiped her eyes, shaking her head.

"You know, I thought much more highly of you. Death eater or not, I always believed you to be Noble. But forget it- you've not changed."

"I already told you, I haven't changed. get used to it."

"But answer me this, would you rather be with me... or against me?" I point at Ivan.

".... Everone changes.... but you refuse...? No wonder..."

She gave a shuddering sigh, eyeing Crouch, than Ivan.
"... I don't know, Crouch. I trust both of you... yet.."

"Only cure for him I know of is putting him out of his misery and I'm just happy enough to oblige..."

Ivan gave a cold and upset look, coughing again, more hot blood welling into his wound, as Cynder began to dress the wounds with strips of fabric she got from her rugged jeans.


".... I will not let you kill him."

I scoff, "How pathetic..."

At this, Cynder froze.

She twitched slightly, turning her head toward Crouch.
Her expression was cold, flat like a stone.

"... Crouch.... stop.... right now... Don't forget that I promised loyalty to you. But if you keep like this.... so help me, you'll have lost a friend."

I shrug and lean against a wall, "You can heal him all you wish..."

"You lonely, lonely man..."

Cynder spoke with utter disgust, her nose wrinkling, her eyes dark.

"... how can you be so cruel...?"

I look at her angrily but with something rooted deep into the back of my eyes, sadness?

"Call it a learned trait."
