"Sorry, just...once you seen the underbelly of things, it's hard to stay as worthwhile to girls like you..."

"We've all seen our fair share of dark days.. doesn't mean you have to give up on any thing though."

"It's a bit late for that for me."

"why don't you tell me? sometimes just talking can be a real help.. I'm quite the listener." she was serious as she looked at him wanting to know more about his past.

"I wouldn't want to tell you especially. It's not a story that will make you happy. Besides, the less people know of me the better."

"I'm not average people though.. you can trust me... it would just be nice to know a little about your past."

He sighed in reservation, but ultimately knew she was right. "Get comfortable...."

She turned a little to face him "okay... "

"well as I had told you when we first met, my birth parents were both death eaters. They were skilled at what they did too. Naturally they wanted their son to carry on their name and 'noble work' as they so put it."

He moved his hand over to the wall and a small spider crawled out and climbed on his hand, "But I didn't want that life. Never. If anything I was content to sit in my room, and play with my little friends..." He showed her the spiders.

"Insecomouth... I can speak with all sorts of insects and such. They spoke back to me sometimes. We would have a good time together..."

"But of course, life never goes good so my parents found out about my talent and brought me before the bald one... but I wouldn't show him what I could do. This earned me my parents scorn as they were humiliated."

He gestured to his bald head and burnt face with shame, "You've seen the trophy I got for that. And they burnt all my friends in the house."

"I can still hear their anguish..."

"But luckily, the Brockstein family came to hunt Death Eaters and killed my parents. Good riddance to them. However, they saw that I had been hurt and they took me with them to tend to my wounds. I told them of my life with them and they adopted me at once. Trained me too, told me how worthless mercy was for Death Eater and how I had to be tough to survive."

"So now, I'm out to do them and myself proud..."

She lightly touched his face eyes never leaving his quiet for a moment absorbing it all "I can't even imagine what that must have been like for you. You're parents were idiot's for treating you so horribly...I understand now why your past isn't you're favourite topic of conversation... so thank you for trusting me enough to tell me."

"Just don't tell anyone else about it..."

She kissed his cheek "I promise"

"Thank you..."

"So.. you're not.. creeped out by me?" Most people hated me when they heard I spoke to spiders and insects.

She shook her head "not at all.. so what's it like talking to insects?"

"No different than talking to a person, except you have to pay more attention to frequency than content."

"that's pretty awesome.. I've always wondered what other beings sounded like."

"Want to talk with them?"

She nodded looking a eyes widening in amazement "definitely!"

"Alright then..." He looked around and noticed a mantis on the window, he made on odd series of clicks with his tongue to get the creatures attention, "what do you wish to say to her?"

She looked curiously at the little green creature "does she have a name?"

He clicked and tongue and made several sounds which the creature seemed to shift towards him, her attenae flicking together a few times, "no one any human could pronounce.."

"That is so awesome.. " her gaze flickered to him for a moment smiling brightly "so does she like humans then?"

He asked the question in the creatures native tongue, to which e gave the reply a few seconds later, 

"She says they peak her curiously but generally avoids them."

"can't say I blame her on that one.."

She crawled closer to Saphire, "she would like to see your eyes."
