I break away and snuggle into his chest listening to his heart beat feeling calmer-

"Life is perfect now..."

"Wh.. what do you mean?"

You know... With Persephone and everything..

"Nothing and I mean NOTHING will get to them, even if I was forced to choose between the Strayers and them."

I kiss him- I know

I kiss her back as though enforcing my promise.

I stroke his face lovingly-

I smile at her.

Well, this place was complicated.


Sherlock glanced around, hands in his pockets.
He pulled out his Mobile and checked it- it didn't turn on.

Clever, magical properties to protect the place. Neat.

The man looked up from his phone, tucking it in his pocket again.
"... boring.."

"Hey! What's your business here?" I ask the new man as I put my hand in my bag, ready to pull out any device I have to stop him if it came to that.

Sherlock had his hands pressed together in a prayer-like way, fingers against his chin, eyes closed in thought.

They opened quickly at the voice, and he raised a brow.
Lowering his hands, the tall man glanced Artisan over, made simple notations, and stuffed his own hands in his pockets.

"My name is Sherlock Holmes. I was asked to tackle a mission for the Minister of Magic."

"May I see your credentials?" I ask approaching him.

Of course he wanted to see them.

The alertness in the boy's eyes tipped Sherlock off to that, and he already had pulled out his slip of paper, handing it to Artisan.

"I'm a consulting detective- Not always approached for cases, but for those extra special ones... or, on this hand, if the Minister is too scared to do anything."

After examining it for authetisitic, it seems to check out so I hand it back to him, "Alright... I presume you're here for the Crest case?"

A nod, Sherlock tucked the paper absent-mindedly into his pocket, eyes turning thoughtful.

"Yes, I am... If you would tell me anything you know about it- seeing as you're a brother- that would be good."

A pause.

"And please, no opinions. Opinions are irrelevant to the case."

"Well he'd be acting a lot more angry than usual, using the dark arts, doing things on his own..."

"He never told us anything and then, after being framed with a conspiracy, he got captured. He confessed to the Minister that he was behind the plot and then escaped after threatening him."

"But there's more, thanks to two of our rising stars, McKenna (Ray) and Trajectory (me), we found out that the Death Eaters somehow had knowledge of the plot.

He listened, closing his eyes and mentally taking notes, removing what wasn't necessary.
Which was, sadly, most of the story.

Sherlock again pressed his fingers together, raising them to his chin thoughtfully.
"Any letters, explanations, hints..? Do you have anything of Crest's I can look at, get samples from..?"

"You can look all you want, but Crest was a man of VERY few words, if any at all. The only new bit of information we have is the plan that was discovered long predates him."

A man of few words?

Sherlock's eyes opened, and he smirked coldly.

"Well, I like him already. If he had a room or something I can look through? I don't work off of nothing, you know."

"Follow me, I'll take you to his house..." I start walking toward's Crest's house.

Sherlock followed swiftly, his coat billowing out behind him, his expression thoughtful.


He spoke to himself, muttering as he walked.

"So, a young and quiet boy begins to get angrier and angrier, to even use dark arts and betray his family. He follows the plans of past ancestors... but why..? Not for fortune, most likely- he could have gotten that another way. Maybe it was something someone did to him? Yes, a bit more possible...."

Hearing his muttering I answer, "Not likely, he broke out a criminal we had secured here. He was under no spells, we could tell this much."

"I didn't ever say that he was under charms,"

Sherlock snapped cooly to Artisan, his expression dark.
"And I do like a bit of silence when I think..."

Another pause, he again returned to the place he called his 'mind palace'.
"... of course, death usually effects someone in this way..."
