Lukas smoothed down her hair for a moment, before one of his arms reached into his pockets. 'I got something for you, y'know.'

Mer giggled again, never feeling so happy and carefree in a long time. 'You're not rusty though, i don't think so anyway.'

"Well, damn. Didn't expect that. I didn't get anything for you. Sorry." Pixie frowns, drawing back slightly and leaing on her stick again.

He smiles shyly, glancing away. "Thank you. There's not much I'm good at."

'You don't need to be good at many things to be happy.' she spoke simply. 'I know I'm not either.'

Lukas pulled out a small package, handing her the present with an easy smile. 'You didn't need to.'

"You're a great dancer as well," he says quietly, sounding uncertain. He's not used to this level of kindness. Jim's nice to him, sure, but he's not kind.

'That's...nice of you to say so.' Mer blushed, continuing the dance. 'It's one of the only things I can pride myself in.' she admitted, if she could she still wouldn't have been able to meet his gaze.

Inside was a small silver chain. At the end was a charm, shaped into a fox with a ruby coloured eye. It was simple; yet it was oddly beautiful.

'Guess I can pass for being normal after all.' she laughed, taking no offence to his surprise. 'Not many people know until i tell them.' Most of the time they didn't notice her unfocused gaze, only her unusually pale eyes.

'Maybe i've just had a lot of time to practice.' he noted, walking behind her and lifting her red hair. The necklace lay easily on her collarbone, and he smiled to himself.

He walked around to face her again, studying the charm for a moment. 'I didn't include any charms on it, you're strong enough without them.'

"Cheers. I love it." Pixie gives him a genuine, proper smile, with no note of any of her usual mocking nature in it.

His own smile was genuine, calm for a change. 'Not a problem. Now let's stop being sappy, where's the firewhiskey?'

'Be right back, my dear.' he performed a princely bow, before striding over to a table of firewhiskey and grabbing bottles. Returning swiftly, he handed one to her.

'Seriously, i told you before you didn't need to be scared.' she nodded in reassurance, guiding them through the lively dance.
