The Forbidden Forest

She looked a little surprised "Saph and Crouch? There's a couple a can't picture."

"Yeah apparently they used to be before he hopped onboard the Voldy bandwagon."

I'm in full sprint now. This is BAD!! I can't tolerate this, the Dark Lord wouldn't allow such weakness from me. I need to get my power back.

He has a head start, but I follow him quickly. I know the paths through the forest like I know the back of my hand.

"You will pay for this! You hear me?!"

"For what? You brought this upon yourself, Crouch. Maybe if you'd been a little nicer, you wouldn't be in this situation."

"I think the question is if you get it back. You'll see how it feels to be the weaker one, for once.

"And the funny thing is, you can't even do anything about it..." I chuckle a little.

My sprint immediately stops at this and perhaps it was pride, perhaps it was anger, I don't know which one but either way something compelled me back to her,

"Don't. You. DARE. Laugh. At. Me! I'm still greater than you, even at half!"

Perfect. Just a little closer...

"Really? Perhaps in magical ability, yes, or your cruelty, but I'm certainly a better person. I consider the morality of my choices, and that might make me a bit weaker because of it, but I do the right thing.

"Is that right?" I pull out my wand and ready it.

"Let's see what this MORALITY of yours can do..."

I draw my wand and shake my head, smiling. "Did I say I was going to rely on morality now?"

I go to fire off a fiendfyre jet but find that the strength of it had greatly diminished. It was no where near the wildfire it used to be.

While it's still a threat, I don't consider it to be a big one. I can't put out the fire, so I weave through the trees, intending to come at Crouch from behind.

Part of me wants to humiliate him, to make him know the horrors of what he's put people through, but if I do that, I'll only sink to his level. It'll be better to get this done with quickly, so I don't lose my patience and do just that.

For the first time since my childhood, I am wary and fearful in this fight. In most fights I could rely on my magical might to ensure victory.

But now, I actually have to assess the girl's power against my own.

I start circling to try and find her, keeping myself pressed against the trees.

I reveal myself for just long enough to cast stupefy, before ducking behind some cover again.

I duck down to avoid it, "REVEAL YOURSELF!!"

"Why should I?" I call back, still hiding behind a tree.

"To prove me wrong. To prove you're not some chicken shit coward like I know you to be."

In truth, I was listening to get closer to her location.

"I'm not a coward. I'm smart. That's why I'm a Ravenclaw.

"Did you really think I was starting to enjoy your lessons? Are you that blind?"

"It doesn't take much to snap a mind... however, I confess... usually it takes a lot more to persuade murder..."

I rein back the anger struggling to fight its way into my actions. "I've done it before, it wasn't much of a stretch. I knew how it would feel. I can deal with it."

I begin creeping my way out of my hiding place in search of a new one, preferably one that gives me a clear shot at rushing towards Crouch.

Crazy grin, "If such is the case, you have to ask yourself..."

"Would stealing my power really be the correct thing to do?"

"Yes. It will protect many other victims from meeting the same fate."
