So it seems the battle has concluded. Of course I had predicted the outcome but an infant could've deduced as much.

But nonetheless, Ace had seemed downtrodden. Perhaps it'd be good to cheer her up.

'My siblings are dead, I don't want to hear any riddles.' she stated upfront, taking to Amaya's complete and utter bluntness for the next few days. Ace folded her arms around her knees.

She clenched her teeth, knowing the only person she could truly accept it from was the person she'd also fled from. 'It's... fine, I don't need it.' Ace ignored the fact there were tear trails down her cheeks.

Taking the available space next to her, I wrap my arms around her silently, "I'm sorry for your loss."

She didn't do it intentionally, but she was leaning in to his touch. At the moment she was like a kitten, needing any sort of comfort that was offered to her.

'I wasn't smart enough to stop this happening. I really am useless.'

'Crouch? yeah, I wished I'd killed the bastard while he was still down, an eye for an eye.' she almost shrugged, trying to stop the flow of tears. They made her feel horribly exposed, even though it was ok for her to grieve.

'Didn't help that Eagle was being all possessive with me.' she muttered under her breath.

"But... what was Eagle doing?" I know sympathy should be overflowing right now, but I can't help but greedily listen to what he did wrong.

She let her fingers run along the cracks in the stone, avoiding the awkwardness which was bound to be imminent. 'I wouldn't be able to kill him anyway, even if i did find him. I'm not very magical.'

Ace exhaled, not putting much thought into it. 'He was being overprotective, telling me how i should be worrying instead of grieving.'

Having never mourned, especially after my parent's... calculated misfortune, I don't quite understand the concept but it was clearly important to her.

She let a cold smirk cross her lips, before they fell back into a expression laden with sorrow. 'He kept saying how if I'd been there, I would've been murdered too.' Eagle may have been right, heck, he probably was, but that wasn't what irritated her.

'I swear he'd cover me with bubble wrap if i let him.'

She nodded, ignoring her reluctance as she rose to her feet, inching closer to the railings. 'We have the choice to act how we want, dress how we want..' Ace made a decision in her mind, one she was sure to go back on, but she'd try it anyway.

She was going to stop using disguises.

'Tell me, why do people hide from who they are?'

The girl slowly pulled out her contact lenses, dropping them over the ledge. She also took off some of her shirts, revealing a smaller and more feminine figure. Ace then started to lift the cap off her head, but decided to keep it. I like my cap.

'I have to be part of my family now..'

She still stood with a masculine posture, mainly because she wasn't a girly person in any way, shape or form. Ace kept her baggy trousers and cap, but there was an unusual beauty in the girl.

'Uh..thanks.' She didn't know how to take compliments either.

Ace faced him again, light grey eyes brimmed with confusion, similar to rain clouds beginning to form. 'I.. don't know if i'm in the right mind frame to make that decision.'

'He isn't, he's just a little too protective.' Ace recalled them in the bar, how he was seething because In query had simply spoken to her.

'You tried to kill him, didn't you?' it was more of a bland statement than a question.
