'Maybe when real Chase is back i'll steal him to myself.' for once, there was a mischeivous smile playing on her lips.

"I'm sure he'll be happy to be taken. I doubt he'll put up much of a fuss." A smile plays on the corners of Chase's lips, tugging them upwards slightly.

'Good, i'd rather not take the great detective Eagle against his will to save my own skin.' she wanted to chuckle again, stifling it. 'Luckily it won't come to that.'

ic she stepped back into his embrace, hoping he wouldn't push her over or something. 'That's a relief..' Ace wasn't sure what else to say, just his presence made her feel moe stable.

He frowns in slight confusion but hugs her anyway. This feels right, familiar, normal. Comfortable.

'Chase..' she mumbled softly, hiding her face in his shirt like she nearly always did. Ace was already relaxed.

And, just like that, his emotions don't just trickle back - they flood.

Chase hugs her tightly, squeezing his eyes shut and tucking his face into her hair. "I love you, too."

A shaky laughter of relief escaped from her, returning the hug with just as much fervour and need. 'I'm getting you back again...' her laugh continued, muffled by his shirt.
