The Library

Shock crossed her face for moment "Chimmy wouldn't.. unless you lied to him.. told him you would give him something he really wants...." she stopped her mind racing "he.." she didn't even finish her sentence as she threw her books and the gift in her bag "Later.. we'll talk later..." she hurried from the library thinking only of Joachim.

Give a girl a good book, and she'll remain happy forever.


Or, well, until the book ends.
Or, well.... reaches an emotional killer....


Well, nevermind, forget that...


Cynder felt quite happy staying alone in the library, reading quietly.
Irma Pince actually liked Cynder.
They even talked here and there-
The young Slytherin was always very good to the books, and never lost nor abused them in any way.
At the moment, she cradled a half-read novel in her hands. One of muggle origin that Madam Pince had to dig about to find, but one very worth the efforts.

I run in with Matthew helping him carry in some gifts for everyone.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS FOLKS!!!"

Cynder jumped from hearing Topher, Madam Pince giving him a harsh look and a 'shuush'.


Looking up from her book, Cynder felt a smile turn over her face quickly, eyes bright and happy.
"Merry Christmas~"
She replied in a much quieter tone, as not to frustrate the librarian further.

Matthew steps over to Cynder happily, "merry Christmas angel..."

Topher makes it his mission to put a Santa hat on everyone around the library, willing or not.

Cynder grinned after Matthew, marking her book place and setting it down.

"Merry Christmas, Matthew...~"

She accepted the Santa hat with a laugh, looking quite cheery about the whole matter.

Topher: "thank ya for takin one without a fight Cynd! It took me forever to get this one Scrooge into one!" I laugh and e plain, "Matt's made small gifts for everyone and I'm helpin' to hand them out!"

Matthew: "it was a little something, just a small show of charity. But you I got something special."

Cynder nodded cheerily towards Topher.
"Hey, it's Christmas~ Why on earth shouldn't I?"

Her eyes turned back to Matthew and she felt herself growing exceedingly happy.

"You made gifts for everyone? Oh, Matthew..~ That's amazing~"

A pause, her cheeks flushed a bit at the mention of something special.
"Y-you did...? You didn't have to..! I did get you something, too, yes... it's not big, but..."

Topher: "well happy to help preacher, and thanks for ya help!" I walk away to leave the two to whatever they wish.

Matthew: "oh you didn't need to get me anything!" I smile at her."

Cynder waved a gentle farewell towards Topher.

At what Matthew said, she gave a slight laugh and dug through her bag for the wrapped gift- a typical, cheesy, Holiday sweater one would expect to get from a grandparent or mother.

"It's kinda something I thought would be funny, as a little sort of joke, but something practical at the same time.."

I take it out and press it against myself with a very amused smile, "I think it's great!. Here, tell me how it looks." I pull it over my current plain white shirt, and straighten it out. Other men might laugh but I wear it as proudly as a knight wears armor.

"How do I look?"

Cynder gave a grin and gave a glad laugh, kissing Matthew gently on the lips.
"You look delightful, love~ I'm glad you like it~"

I kiss her back and then take out a very small sack, "Here is your gift, angel.."

(( thank you~ Le Miserables is a great musical and I want to see it so bad. And Fantine (or however her name is spelled) Is such a lovely and sad character I just. ))


Cynder looked tentatively at the sack and took it gently, curious to see what it was as she opened it, eyes twinkling happily.

Inside of the sack was a small white bird, a dove to be precise which cooed in is new owner's touch.

Cynder blinked in half-surprise, before her grin grew wider, and she stroked the dove gently.


"Oh, it's beautiful, Matthew...!"

"Thank you, I thought you deserved such a wondrous bird of peace." I smile at her/

Cynder grinned and kissed Matthew again, making sure to keep the bird steady and not to startle it.

"Thank you, so very much..........!"

I kiss her back, my entire soul warmed by the fact she loved it.

"What will you name her?"

What to name her...?
Cynder frowned to herself and gently stroked the bird's feathers.

"Hmm... well, how about Eirene....? It is Greek for peace..."

"I like it!" I pat Eirene's head ever so gently as she cooed in affection.

Cynder couldn't help but feel exceedingly glad. Matthew was good to her; so very, very good to her.

"I love you, Matthew. Thank you, again..."

"I love you too Cynder, my angel!"
