Artemis and Liria's House

Inside sat two sets of clothes and binkies.
One was pink, another blue.

On each set, there were pyjamas for newborns, toddlers, and young children about pre-k age.
The letter wrote in the same, feminine hand and black ink.

Dearest Mr. And Mrs. Strayer,

Congratulations on the children!
I would like to let you have these clothes, as a gift, and so you won't have to go out and get some right off the bat.
Again, congrats!
And best wishes to you both.


There was no signature, no name.

From out of the box, though, silent and tiny, a metallic-looking bug-like toy crawled from the box and flew, landing on the floors and scuttling to the walls.

-Persephone! She knew somehow! I don't know how but she did.-

-I go to look at the bug.-

A chitter, the bug seemed to turn to look at Artemis.
It appeared to be a plain bug, from perhaps the swamp.
A beetle-like creature. It's coloring seemed to have shifted from a metallic to a now brownish color. It looked just like a beetle that could have crawled into the box from the swamps.

It chittered again and fluttered it's wings, climbing up the wall slightly, quietly.

-She knew where we were to! This is bad. I need back up in case. The barrier should hold but I canot be certain.-

The bug paused again, seeming to turn toward Artemis.
It's chittering almost sounded like a mocking laugh.


Another bug-like creature, well-crafted and beautifully pained flew from the box as well.
A wasp-looking one that buzzed quickly away to the nearest window (Or door, if there's not a window), it's black and white stripes also bearing a black heart on it's abdomen.

The beetle remained where it was, scuttering to the left or right here and there before chittering again.

-SURVEILLANCE!-

-I start shooting spells at the creatures.-

The Beetle, the creation of Jean Descole himself, opened it's wings.

A bubble of protection covered itself and the wasp, allowing the other creature to get outside, to the shield.

And it shot something to it, that would break it down, perhaps even send the information about it back to Persephone.
All part of the plan.
All part of weapons made by Descole himself.

-The design seemed so familiar, perhaps Artisan would know.-

-I must keep the shield up at all cost!-

-I devote every fragment of my energy to repairing it.-

A voice- familiar and much more masculine than Persephone's seemed to whisper from the Beetle.
The voice of the machine's creators.

"Nice try..."


The wasp gave a final, firm shove.
It's stinger seemed to pierce the shield, break it down completely. Immense and surprising power, despite it's small form.

-That voice... Descole? How was he in league with Persephone? No matter, I have to move Liria and my children out of here, NOW.-

Ooc Sorry fell asleep.

Ic I hold Elena and Arthur close eyes wide-

"We have to go... are you able to move?"

I shake my head-

-I shake my head.- "Dammit... how did she find us so quick?"

O shake my head- I dont know!!!! -I simply hold Elena and Arthur closer. I had wanted to put them down and sleep but now I couldnt-

"Here, let me take them. You need rest."

Shakes head- No. You might need your hands to fight... Whatever they are...

"Don't worry, I'll stay awake all night to keep them safe..."

Once again shakes head no. Face looking strained-

"I won't let her near them, I promise." -I smile at her reassuringly.-

I hesitantly hand him Elena. But I was still clinging to Arthur-

-I hold Elena like she was the most precious thing in the world.-

A few more clicks, a final laugh-like sound, both the creatures seemed to deactivate.
The beetle stuck to the wall, the wasp fell harmlessly to the ground.
Their work was done, and they shut off- to not be activated again.


Harmless.

Artemis: "Artisan Crest, all available Strayer please come here!"

-Within moments Artisan and Crest were there and Artisan inspected the device.-

Artisan: "This is definitely Descoles work, no denying that."

Crest: -I walk out silently after grabbing the device and putting a hand on the hilt of his sword. This time he was out for blood.-
