Hospital Wing

-I let out a hearty laugh and high five Abu.- "Wow... Ministry must be in real trouble if their top auror can get punched by a monkey!"

Descole trembled with anger, reaching to his belt, touching the hilt of his sword.


"... Good... evening... to you all..."

And he turned away from them, trying to calm himself as he remembered something critical.

"Oh, yes, I nearly forgot. You're part of Mr. Bryn's army, correct?"

"Was one of the first to sign up!" -I announce to him.-

Descole chuckled darkly.

"Wonderful- because I'll be instructing a bit of weaponry fighting..."

-My ears perk up at this.- "Come again...?"

Descole smirked, not turning around.

"Oh, I thought you and your silly girlfriend would like to know that I'll be instructing some weaponry fighting, as part of it..."

A chuckle, he turned his head.

"But, I don't stand for ignorant little children who refuse to show those above them respect."

"You're lookin' at a future duke, as..."

-I hate flaunting royal status... but I have to!-

Descole smirked.

"And you're looking at the man who will make the most important scientific discovery of all time. Duke or not, you're still a child...."

"Is that discovery how to make your face slightly less repulsive?"

Descole tensed, anger boiling up in him again.

He did, however, keep his voice calm and continue.

"I will discover, in due time... Eternal life and a lost kind. With the use of the Specter of legends tied in the with civilization.. it'll be... easy work."

-I chuckle a bit.- "Oh I'm sorry just... you sound so much like a villain from James Bond it's ridiculous.. like honestly, all you need is a cat to pet on the spinning chair and ya got it..."

Descole smirked, quite amused now at the comment.

"Well, I can't say that would be a bad life. But you won't be so... sure of this when you see what I can do."

He laughed to himself and turned, beginning to leave the room.

"If you want to see what I mean- you might as well visit the lake in a few hours' time.. Good day."

-I call out to him.- "BROKEN ARM! POMFREY WON'T LET ME LEAVE!"

Descole called back over his shoulder to Topher, very matter-of-factly.

"Tell her to get her butt in gear and heal you, then. It'll be quite a show..!"

Cynder knew Descole was gone right now.
But there was something dull and fearful about that.
She felt suddenly vulnerable.

But something else bothered her.
Despite Madam Pomfrey's care, she didn't feel any better. And slowly, her hearing began to dull.
She felt defenceless, like someone in a coma unable to respond or do anything for themselves. She couldn't bring herself to speak.

Deaf and Dumb, Cynder lied in the hospital bed, looking up at the ceiling, wondering dully when Descole would come back. It was a shame she was actually looking for his company, but...

Was Pomfrey talking?

Cynder couldn't tell. She blinked at the woman weakly as she pressed a potion to her lips.
But she still felt sick. She felt awful. And she was deaf.
When she tried to talk, she was mute.

The girl frowned, coughing.
Pomfrey got a bucket in time for the girl to hurl painfully into it, retching up the contents of her stomach.
And the fever continued painfully.

-I walk inside and find Ged's girl lying there.- "Yo, Dustypaws... ya alright?"

Cynder looked blankly at Joachim.
His lips had been moving, but no noise came from them.

She blinked weakly, unable to even give a confused look, brown eyes fogged and dull.

"Oh shit..."

-Ged is gonna gut me if I don't try anything.- "Hold still there..." -I try to use some healing spells, but my skills with them were far from effective.-

"HEY POMFREY! WHERE ARE YA!"

Cynder's burning fever had drained the color from her skin, leaving those normally bright eyes dark and soulless, as if empty.

Pomfrey looked out from her office, to Joachim, scowling.
She scolded him coldly.

"Please, don't shout! There are some people sleeping in here!"

"Tell someone who cares... this gal needs ya help BADLY! I mean, look at her!" -I point to her.-

-It was strange, I know I haven't talked with this gal long, but still, she seemed a'ight... a kind soul, like Ged.-

Cynder watched on, unable to hear anything.
Sometimes it was just a steady whistle in her ears that made her grimace uncomfortably.

Madam Pomfrey, however, scowled and stepped out to stand by Cynder's bedside.

"I'm sorry, but I've done almost everything I can. I've tried a bezoar, healing potions, fever fixers, things of the like. But- it's like nothing works. It's nothing I can say I've really seen. But when I tried to suggest Mungos, she refused."
