'Why?' he had made her intrigued again, hoping he wouldn't fret too much about Sam. They had each other, isn't that what mattered when you boiled down to it?

"Because... I'm curious about something." If he knew about my date in Myrtle Beach with Sam, it might lead him to the conclusion of my innocence or if nothing else point him in the direction.

She wordlessly took his hand, eyes seeming to brighten to a pale grey hue, peering at his form.

What surprised her was that she could hardly see anything, he was too reserved. Flecks of orange and black, it was all she saw.
