-I look around-

I duck down behind the sappires, not sure if he saw me.

-I approach Phoenix- Why can't you be a good sister?

I stand up, casually brushing myself off. "Whatever do you mean?" I smile angelically. "I talked to her, I didn't listen to her ramblings because I deem them to be bull... What have I done wrong?"

Because true siblings listen to each other. Like River and I.

"No. Most siblings argue. Pixie tried to intervene in something that isn't her problem."

Well maybe she wants to stop you because shes concerned about you? You ever consider her?

"What I do doesn't concern her!" I narrow my eyes. "It's my business, and mine alone. She doesn't need to worry her pretty little head. She'd be safer if she stayed out of it." I look away for a moment before turning back to Crouch. I speak quietly and quickly. "As weird as it sounds, I want to protect her. Protect her from Sound. I don't give a damn if he's 'changed', he can just as easily change back. Sure, I like being bad, but if I have to protect my sister then I bloody well will! Happy?"

I give him an unnerving smile. "But it's more fun this way."

-I look at her incredulously- So fun is more important than the protection of your sister?

"Don't you see? I'm doing both at the same time! By bringing down Sound I'm creating a safe place for her. I would never harm her. This way I get what I want, and she gets to be safe." I shake my head at him as if to say, 'Honestly, why don't you understand?'

Do you have to drag others down to do it too?

I raise an eyebrow. "All part of the process." Not to mention, it's enjoyable.

"Come ON, Barty! I'm not being ENTIRELY selfish here! I'm actually trying to be a good person! I'm just doing it in my own way, ok? Sheesh!"

Look, wanting to protect your sister is fine, defeating Sound is fine, but you need not needlessly harm others

"I've had enough of this!" I hiss. "Didn't you hear me the last time I told you? I. Don't. Care. About. Them. They're just casualties."

"SO AM I!" I'm surprised to find myself struggling to hold back tears. "But nobody else seemed to give a damn! I tried and I tried but nobody gave a unicorn! Once they knew about what I am, they hate me!" I point my finger at him, injecting each 'this' with a poke. "This is what you all get for abandoning me. This is what you get for rejecting me. This is what happens when you don't give someone a hope in hell!"

-I soften my expression- Phoenix... I never abandoned you. I was willing to be your friend, even after I put together what you were. That is, until your plan came to light.

I turn away, wiping my eyes with the corner of my sleeve furiously. I don't deserve your pity. I'm scared to show the wounded little girl that I hid behind a tough shell. "I'm only what the rest of the wizarding world made me, Barty..."

I flinch from him. "Picture this... A little girl, around ten years old, wakes up to be told she's a werewolf. She's been told stories about how dangerous and- and horrible they are. She's heard of Greyback. The Healers can barely look at her, let alone help her to heal. From then on, when people learn what she is, they distance themselves from her."

I pause. "I guess it broke me... I couldn't take the ridicule or the looks I received..." I shiver. "... The pain."
