Don't you have anything better to do with your time? If you spent half as much time trying to find a real boyfriend as you do pestering me, than you'd probaly be engaged by now

"Please. I don't want a proper relationship. It's too binding. This way I can do whatever the hell I want. You're just easy to manipulate." I smirk and pull an unopened bottle of firewhiskey out of my bag. "Want some? I promise that it's not poisoned or whatever, for what it's worth."

-I smile at her- Evidently I'm not as easy to manipulate as you thought.

2. I wouldn't accept a drink from you if I was dying of thirst

I laugh. "One Obliviate and POOF! Easy as pie." I snort and open the bottle. "I'm not of age either, but do I look like I care?" I pour myself a generous glass of firewhiskey before putting the bottle away. "It's not much of a surprise you feel that way. It's not like I've done anything to make you trust me."

Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

OOC: Damon quote.

IC: I sip the firewhiskey, considering him over the rim of the glass. "You could do a lot, Barty... You've got the right qualities. It's a shame the Ministry got its claws into you."

OOC I still have 3 episodes to watch before I'm fully caught up but I hope Damon gets his balls back soon

-I look at her with a raised eyebrow and an unfazed expression- Oh, right qualities for what?

OOC: Merlin, Crouch, you need to see them... The last three episodes of Series 3 blew my mind.

IC: "I dunno... Being who you want?" My eyes narrow. "The Ministry's sick. They control people. You could have done whatever you wanted, been whoever you wanted, but you bought into their crap. I didn't, and I'm enjoying myself a whole lot more than I would if it was the other way around."

The Ministry fights for the good of the people. There may be a few corrupt officials but I intend to become Minister and end corruption for good.

"Yeah, and I'll be fully human again." I snort and drink more firewhiskey.

Look I'm sorry for what happened to you, but that is not a justification for what you've done.

"How was I supposed to react? Bow down to the Ministry and let them use me?" I put my glass down and lean forwards. "They hate people like me. How other werewolves like Lupin can even scrape a living is ridiculous, let alone why they'd want to. I don't get treated like a human being anymore. I'm treated like an animal. If they'd be a bit nicer, I might consider changing my ways. Until then, I'm staying the way I am."

Believe it or not Phoenix, we're more alike than you think.

I was hated and treated like a freak because of my unnaturally strong magic. I was abused daily by the man meant to protect and raise me.

But I never gave up hope. I found someone to save me from the darkness I would've drowned in. You can do the same.

"Then why hasn't someone helped me yet? Why haven't I 'found someone'? The only people that could have helped me have disregarded me." I speak bitterly. "They never even tried."

Was it that? Or did your actions just scare them away?

In the beginning it was true. Now I'm not so sure. "Yes. Maybe I would've tried before, but now..." I trail off and drain my glass.

It isn't too late for you to try. Try and change your ways.

"No. Then people will have expectations and I'll have to live up to them. It's easier this way."

-I sigh in defeat and speak in a tone like a brother giving advice to a sister- Phoenix, it's never too late (love that song). Granted, people will expect more from you, but if you care, you'll want to live up to them. Like I do.

-I hear something, i turn my head and see Noise walk in, leaving my goblet completely exposed.-

IC: I smirk and quickly unstopper the vial and tip it into his goblet. Screw expectations. I hide the empty bottle in my pocket. "But, Barty, now that Noise is broken, who's going to keep the balance of good and badass? Someone has to fill that void, and I'm only too happy to step up to the plate."

There does not need to be balance. Good has to win and evil must be eliminated.

-I go to take a sip from my goblet but then look over at Ellise-

"There's always a balance. It's how the world works." I hide my frustration at his distraction.
