'Some do.' he pointed out absently, rolling his shoulders in a shrug. 'Kitsune clans don't all fall on one side or the other, just look at the fire kistune.' he then pointed to himself in response.

"You are more flexible than I am. Most of my clan are with the Inari. Either way, I, personally, could not be comfortable on your side." Rayne was being perfectly honest. As restrictive as the Inari were, she recoiled at the very idea of becoming a Nogitsune.

'and that's all down to preference.' he nodded his head in part respect. 'You know the nature of my clan, we don't stick together, we're a flighty bunch.'

She smiled wryly. "I wouldn't expect any of you to be any other way. Will you consider coming back to the Inari, at least? Another kitsune on our side could make all the difference."

'I'm not sure i can... i'm comfortable here. I haven't moved on in at least half a year.' he didn't want to admit the reason. He tried to hide his nervousness, focusing his intense gaze elsewhere.

"Consideration is all I'll ask for." Rayne's voice was kind, but it took on a sterner tone as she continued. "And I will be watching, Lukas, to make sure you're giving the humans the respect they are due."

((Bluh, I gtg. Pause?))

'Believe me, I am.' he tried to look into her eyes again, but they unnerved him. 'At least, i try to. I will attempt to consider, but don't get your hopes up.' He insisted on the last bit, knowing the chances of him rejoining were very slim.

She visibly relaxed at his promise, the tension draining from her thin frame. "Good. Thank you, Lukas."

'Oh, i believe you have nothing to thank me for.' his face struggled to remain blank.

"But I'll thank you anyway. It's something." She shrugged.

'You never know, i could be lying. I'm not bound to truth like you are.' although it's easy to skirt around issues anyway.. he wasn't lying though, he was just pointing it out.

"I'll take that chance." She folded her arms, complete honesty in her expression - not that it could be anything else, really.

'Why? What have i ever done but be an asshole?' he was genuinely curious as to why she was offering another chance.

"Because we could do with the boosted numbers." She shrugged again, glancing away. "You can never have too many kitsune on your side."

'Maybe you should talk to other Nogitsune then, some of them want to repent and stuff...' he was uncomfortable with receiving the attention.

"Perhaps," she acknowledged him with a nod. "Perhaps. Some of the other kitsune have gone to find such Nogitsune. I wanted to speak to you. I needed to warn you off of your humans anyway."

'[i]my[i] humans are exactly that. I haven't done anything vile to them, i don't drain their blood and toss their carcasses aside. They aren't unhappy because of me.' he was growing quickly irritated, living up to the standard of fire kitsunes having quick tempers.

"But you've harmed them, haven't you? You've annoyed them, poked and prodded at them to get reactions... I could name humans that you've influenced." Rayne stayed cool and collected, her expression carefully blank.

'Go for it.' he challenged, taking a tiny step forward. 'We are creatures of mischief, it's what our natures tell us to do!'

"Phoenix, Pixie, Evan ((that was his name right o.o)), not to mention countless others that you've interfered with." Rayne moved back smoothly. She knew she was at a disadvantage here; unlike Lukas, she was bound by the rules of the Inari.

'You're really using Pixie Flame as an example?' he spat at her, knowing she'd struck a nerve. 'I wouldn't use her, i-' he cut himself off, before finishing '-respect her wishes.'

The kitsune raised an eyebrow, purple eyes widening a little. "Just her, then? Not her sister? Not the boy you took your body from? Not anyone else?"

'I set her cloak on fire once, there's a kid called Crouch who mass murders everybody. I'm not a bad guy.' he practically spat at her, growing irritated.

He apparated with a small pop, inhaling deeply and sharply. Smell was almost intoxicating to him, a content smile forming on his lips, revealing his slightly sharper canines.
