One week. It's been only one damn week since the dead started walking again.

She took a calming breath and held the ax closer to her chest. She could hear the groans and the slide of shoes on the asphalt behind her as she hid behind an abandoned car.

Thankfully they hadn't noticed her yet. But they would, eventually.

OOC jump in when ready

Nothing like the smell of rotting corpses in the morning...

Chris was glad he found that minivan when he did to buckle down in for the night. Rather ironic they were his salvation after all the times he made fun of them when the biggest worry in the world was traffic...

But even so, time to look for a meal. Hopefully the nearby town would give him something. Drawing his sansibar sword, he stepped out of the minivan and started to make his way to the town...

She prepped herself mentally to go and face them. She needed supplies and there was bound to be some in the store behind her.

With a quick nod to herself, she stood and made her way to the store. Ax poised and ready to kill.

Stepping into the town, Chris went through his mental check list.


Abandoned cars, check.
General disrepair, check.
No people, check...
Amendment, no people who don't want to eat people, check.
People who do want to eat people, BIG check.

"Well guys, morning!" he told the small patrol of walkers roaming blindly around the streets. Chris puts on his headphones, turning on the song, 'Do You Believe In Magic?', and starts to hack and stab at the roaming corpses.

The walkers, which had started stalking toward her, turned and suddenly wandered off in another direction.

She was curious about their sudden change in focus, but grateful. She smirked to herself.

"Sorry sap-sucker."

May I join *peeks out from corner*

After a couple of minutes, the patrol of waters lay dead.. again... at Chris's feet as he shook his sword to get the new blood and god-knows-what-else off it.

"Well guys, it's been a hoot. Well, maybe a bit more for me than you, I'm guessing. But I have places to be so I'll show myself out thank you..."

Chris found it was important to not lose your sense of humor in these conditions. He looked around to see what stores were available to plunder. 

"Please let them be some brown beans..." Chris pleaded softly as he stepped into the grocery store.

She was filling her backpack with food and other supplies. She'd already hit the pharmacy and gotten what was left. She was surprised to have not run into too many walkers.

"Not that I'm complaining," she muttered to herself.

What was that?

Chris swore he heard someone going, 'Not that I'm complaining'. He was writing on a sheet of paper how much he owed the grocery store for his his latest acquisition when he heard a girl's voice.

In this world, the humans were almost as bad as the walkers. Worse maybe. 

However, Chris wasn't one to jump to conclusions. A needless scrap wasn't productive to his survival. He kept his sword ready and worked along the aisles to try and find the source of the voice.

She zipped up her bag and slung it over her shoulders. She grabbed her ax and headed to the next isle, canned goods. She knew she probably wouldn't find anything she liked, but she was smart. She knew food would run out sooner rather than later and she didn't plan on being caught without it.

"Ew, tuna..." she said as she grabbed cans from the shelves. "It better not taste too fishy."

Umm....

Zombies.
Really, I thought it was JUST in movies but hey, I guess it could always be worse. I know whistling probably wasn't wise but I needed something to distract my distressed and hyper mind as I pulled my hatchet from deep within the crevices of a fallen corpses skull. I was wearing mostly black, my face was covered all except for my hair. I walked slowly along the side of a barren road. The sights of deserted cars and towns wearing away at my mood. I came across a rather large pile of dead corpses.

someone already here? I thought with mild anticipation as I walked, the grip on my hatchet becoming tighter

Chris looked down the canned goods aisle, taking notice of a fellow survivor like him. Having already gotten his fill, he found there was no purpose to fighting this stranger. One of the rules of his life that governed him even before all this shit storm started was 'Everything in life must serve a purpose.' There was no sense in fighting a needless battle. 

He slowly back up but his foot accidentally kicked a can, causing a clamor.

She dropped her bag and turned around to face the source of the noise, ax at the ready.

She wasn't expecting to see another human.

She eyed him suspiciously. "I don't want trouble."

It was so quiet one could hear a pin drop. Or in my case a metal can. It came from inside a store. Typical, I thought walking over carefully not letting my gaze distract anywhere else.
You never know with people, especially in a world like this. They could be friendly, could be not. I tended to assume the worst so I pulled one of my pistols and cocked it as I got closer.

"Really sister? Then who's the partner cocking the gun?" Chris asked sarcastically as he put his hand on his holster.
