Middle Court Yard

"HOW DARE YOU!! DO YOU KNOW WHO I..." Before this threat could come full circle, the vial was plunged into him, creating a pathway for the liquid to flow into his body.

Crouch looked. Upon the intruder of his bloodstream with fright, unfeigned, unmatched. Power had been what affirmed his existence, it was his identity, what made him who he is. If that was gone...

"YOU FOOL! GET THAT OUT OF ME NOW!!" The head death eater was in full panic was the vials contents had emptied.

Lewis forced Crouch's mouth shut with his foot, using it to keep his chin up which forced his head back.

"Just let it do what it was made for Crouch. Don't fight it; you can't win."

OOC Sorry for the delays, I REALLY want to write this post, but I want it to be epic so I keep playing with it

Blank. He had gone blank in his mind and face.

While not himself in physical agony, the corrosion in his body was undeniable. Rusting his blood as the decay worked on his marrow and soul at once, the head death eater could only look past Lewis's face. His gaze was not angry or vengeful or sad. It was shock, freezing the sweat on his brow it seemed as he lay motionless. He didn't dare get up in fear of breaking a bone if he did.

However his skeleton was at no peril, but his magic and his other supernatural attributes were at the potions mercy. But the liquid was that of a roman emperor, condemning to death that which empowered him for so long.

The most movement the weakened boy could manage was an imperceptible shake on the ground. Dishonored, humiliated, stripped of dignity and pride.

Blank and broken.

"Right, let's get you home."

Lewis assisted the injured Crouch to rest on his shoulders, holding him just above the ground so that his feet dangled and dragged across the ground. He was prepared to help Crouch all the way to his home, maybe even the Slytherin common room, but he remembered something. Lewis turned to see Eugene writhing in pain on the floor across the courtyard.

"Well, he was useful."

Lewis shifted course towards Eugene, taking the time to check on him. After a moment of observation, he retrieved a piece of candy from his satchel and placed it in Eugene's mouth, even assisting him in chewing it by grabbing his jaw.

"For your troubles" he explained.

Lewis continued carrying Crouch's body away from the battle, taking him somewhere safe so that he could recover.

The sweet taste in his mouth did little to quell the fiery agony that engulfed Eugene as he hoped the storm clouds above would open and rain soon.

Crouch put up no protests as he was still completely and unequivocally stunned, as though a stupefy at permanent effect on him.

Ooc where to?

Wherever it would make sense to take Crouch to. Maybe Lewis would just leave him hidden in the Forbidden Forest, or he could take him back to the Slytherin Common Room or something.

It was safe to say that Phoenix was both furious and sick with worry when she found out. She was too late to join the fight - a fact that she would feel guilty for later - but not to help, or so she hoped. She had picked up a little bit of training from Eugene and simply general knowledge, so if all went well she could make some difference.

Swallowing back a sickening mixture of emotions for now, she instead knelt beside him, gnawing her lip. If she'd allowed herself to feel them, she'd have been caught between bursting into tears and taking off at a sprint to give Crouch what he deserved. If Pixie had been present, it was likely she would've entrusted Eugene to her and taken revenge.

But that simply wasn't possible now.

"Eugene?" she asked, surprising herself when her voice was steady.

The only show of life the burnt made had was looking up at his beloved nd a few raspy breaths.

Her expression softened, fondness and concern slipping through the mask. "I'm going to have to move you. I don't have the medicine to try and treat you here. Do you think you'll be okay if I levitate you? Just- glance to the side if you think that's alright, I suppose."

Eugene glanced to one side, "pho...e...n.."

She hushed him gently. "Don't strain yourself. You'll need your strength for healing." As would she. Phoenix knew already that her knowledge wouldn't be enough, so she'd have to call in some favours. Perhaps Jack would know enough; the last time she'd heard, he and Eugene got along well too, so maybe he'd be willing to help?

"Ja...ck..."

She nodded, a faintly amused smile passing over her lips briefly. "Yes, that's what I was thinking." Phoenix stood then, drawing her wand. "I'll be as careful as I can, okay?"

He nodded his charred face.

Carefully, Phoenix levitated him and headed over to the Hospital Wing.
