"Back hom.." He stopped realizing his mistake and then corrected himself, "we have a safe house."

I nod, feeling bad that I reminded him of his destroyed home. "Okay..."

"Just... Please don't think ill of me afterwards..." He took the, both and walked them out

"Why would I think ill of you?"

He kept silent for a while, afraid of his answer.

"It's okay, Crest. You don't have to answer if you really don't want to."

"Thank you..."

"Sam, I'm really sorry but sometimes you need to do what's necessary."

I look confused as to why he's apologizing.

He sat down on one of the many stone benches and pulled out the book that he was currently working on.

Eugene intended to hold the duel in the forest, but the better informed Crouch had a different plan.

"Hello Eugene.. " crouch smiled sadistically at his new victim and Eugene could only look on in fright as crouch invaded his mind with a legillimens.

All the horrors of his life unveiled before his eyes and all his pain receptors went into overdrive.

"You know you should know better than to challenge me..." The sadist kept his hold on Eugene's mind, cracking away at his sanity.

"And I accept!" He lifted his wand in a grandiose fashion as a small glowing orb formed at the tip of his wand, this orb slowly expanded seeming to grow in both size and heat as it touched the surrounding oxygen. He took aim at Eugene, "MUAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!"

Lewis stumbled across the courtyard, when he heard some sort of commotion. He twisted his neck to see Crouch aiming a spell at Eugene. He sighed, giving a heavy shrug.

"I thought I'd have a little longer to prepare. That Eugene sure is enthusiastic."

Lewis reached into his satchel and retrieved the vial containing his and Eugene's formula. He took a few steps towards them before sprinting to Crouch in a moment, his hand extended in a fist.

Too obsessed with his target, he shot the spell off at the broken Eugene, who erupted into a choir of anguish as his skin turned to char, the once pale flesh dissolving into an in recognizable black as he fell to the ground, gasping for breath. His hair set itself ablaze from the heat and he even coughed a small ember from his mouth.

As crouch laughed at the sight of the human barbecue, he heard at the last available step... 

Lewis.

Though it was too late to save his friend harm, Lewis still wished to hit Crouch before he was noticed. He didn't steer from his pre-determined path and instead continued rushing towards Crouch with his fist high in the air, ready to come down at any second.

"An ambush..." Crouch realized as he jumped back to avoid the hit, "they set me up... He muttered furiously to him.

Lewis' fist came crashing to the ground, causing it to crack slightly.

"Hmm. Seems I underestimated your reactions" Lewis brought his hand to his chin "Perhaps I should mention this in my journal."

Eugene's cries of pain reminded Lewis of his objective.

"Well it appears I'm getting a bit off-task here."

Retrieving his wand without even appearing to move, Lewis fired a simple Stupefy spell at Crouch.

"You must be joking..." Crouch replied dryly and he merely flicked his wrist and sent the spell away from him, "how about a REAL spell, CRUCIO!!!"

Lewis fired another Stupefy, this time matching the power of Crouch's spell. As the two collided and exploded in mid air, Lewis dashed through the dust cloud, reaching out his hand to grab Crouch's head.

If crouch had to admit this wizard possessed quite a prowess to be able to match his crucio. But he still made himself his enemy and thus had to be eliminated.

This plan however was delayed but he hand on his head, "what the dark lord are you doing?!"

Slightly crushing Crouch's head in his large hand, Lewis attempted to crash Crouch's head into the ground.

"What needs to be done."

"Unheard me you inferior!" He tried to reach behind him to grab the assassin, but this only aided his way to the ground.

Lewis tauntingly dangled the vial in front of Crouch's face.

"See this?" He said, face unchanging "This simple formula will be your downfall Crouch. Though I have to admit I hate to do this; your research potential is uncanny. However you appear too dangerous to allow you to continue in your current state."

Lewis kicked Crouch's wand away with one foot before bringing his other into the air, slicing it through the air towards Crouch's chest.
