ic 'I'm confused, Tomas.' her voice had lost all its sharpness. 'I don't know what i want, i never do. And you being under my skin... it makes me feel vulnerable. I need these barriers, i need to keep everyone out so i can't get hurt. And more importantly so i can't hurt anyone else.'

Her gaze dropped to the floor, fixating on one of the tiles.

'You will neve live life if you dont let anyone in.' Hetook her hand and traced her fingers down to hr wist. 'ANd m ing undr your skin? i wll neverdo anything to hurt you, or break yor trust. letting me in made you stronger.'

Even at his touch her fingers curled into fists, gritting her teeth. 'No, letting you in made me weak, and i've never been able to recover since.' She couldn't describe it, she just had this need to keep people out, at a distance.

He sighed. 'Its wha youbelieve, but i dont think that.'

He nodded. 'I understand.'

'Who knows? Maybe this time i won't be so ready to throw away the only good thing that's happened to me over the last few months.'

'Well...I hope... hope he makes you appy then.'

'And i hope you can find someone too..' she reached up, running a thumb along his cheek. 'Someone who can be faithful and won't mess you about.'

He shakes hs head.'I dont want someone that isnt you.'

'You can't keep waiting forever for something that isn't likely to happen. I want to commit myself to Joachim, to be decent for once. Unless he breaks up with me, then it's unlikely..'

He blinked at the name, but didnt comment on it. 'I will wait forever for you. ven if you move on.'

'Then you're a fool.' she mumbled, exhaling. 'You'll be wasting your life.'

'Its my life to waste.'

'I don't want you to waste it this way.' she stated simply, at loss as to what else she could say.

He smiled. 'You cant tel me not to now.'

'I know, i was just hoping you'd listen to me.' her smile was weak, but it was still there.

'Ill listen to you in anything but this.'

'You're so damn stubborn..' she mumbled, but not in a malicious way.

'Go home Tomas.' there was a teasing smile on her face, pulling the boy in for a friendly hug.
