Moriarty's Mansion

Naturally, Moriarty's house isn't simply a 'house'. It's not a huge building, but it's certainly big enough for a few families. It's luxurious, comfortable, but also carefully guarded by protective enchantments.

Jim only spends a long time here when he has nothing else to do, or when he's waiting to meet with some of his crew. It is the centre of the Consulting Criminal's spider web, but only a trusted few know of its location.

The answer is very obvious, me of course. It seems he wasn't lying about the address, this certainly looks the part.

And now, here's an easy riddle, how to get inside? Why, with my heightened intelligence, this will be child's play.

A few patrol the boundaries of the mansion. There aren't more than five, as Jim's protective enchantments generally keep most people out. However, neither are these five idiots; they were chosen by Moriarty himself to guard his home.

One...two...three...four...oh this is ridiculous. This gnat must be more confident than me if he believes this is all the security he needed.

After approaching the house, I notice one glaring disadvantage I was in, or rather a challenge. It went without saying these guards were probably wizards, whereas I was squib. Overpowering them is out of the question but outsmarting them will do me just as good if not better.

They don't notice him for now, although one sees some movement but disregards it as some sort of animal; foxes or rabbits are a common sight, and they've learned to ignore them.

Maybe a little diversion will suit me well. I take the top part of my cane off, shaped like a question mark and set it on the ground. I push a button or two on it and just step away a little.

A few seconds later, all sources of illumination turned green and then flickered out.

"The hell? They never turn off."

"I dunno. Go look, we'll keep an eye out."

Two of the guards remove themselves from the group and carefully make their way across the grounds, lighting their wands to see. The other three light theirs, too, but stay put, shining the beams over the grass.

Slightly better, well my cane should have enough voltage to take out the remaining few.

"riddle me this.." I step out of the shadows and start to approach them confidently.

"What is it that falls from the sky but some some crooks ride it?"

The three remaining guards glance at each other, looking confused. "Uh, I dunno, buddy," one says, giving him an odd look. "How'd you even get here?"

"Sorry, the correct answer is..." I jab my cane into the ground and send out a massive amount of electricity to shock them, "the lightning."

They all cry out as they get shocked, both in surprise and pain, cursing and swearing when they can manage it.

"Such dullards...." I step over them as I make my way toward the house to get inside.

A couple struggle to their feet, shooting spells after him. "Hey! You can't go in there! Who the hell do you think you are?!"

"Now that's the riddle isn't it?" I jab my cane into the ground again to give them a second dose.

This time they curl up in balls on the ground and stay down, panting and groaning in pain.

"Bas... tard..."

"The boss... won't let you... get away with this..."

"I already have..."

I step inside to take a look around. Given his years of experience and at least mediocre intelligence next to mine, it was doubtful he had anything to hide in here.

So maybe I could either destroy this place to send a message or... something else.

Desperate to try and stop him, they attempt to get to their feet again, but stumble and topple over. It takes a few attempts before they can even stand steadily.

As I casually stroll through the corridors, at every single corner I place miniature cameras. The could be mistaken for specks on a wall, hardly visible unless one looked for them. To disguise my efforts I also place more visible cameras in other spots, but they were more obvious.

Knowing how arrogant the gnat was, he would find the obvious cameras and not even look for the hidden ones.

Once I view enough of his activities, I can get the Strayers to do my dirty works.

OOC: Jim: -Snorts- Dear, I'm really not that stupid. And I hardly spend any time here. Nice try.

Out of curiosity, what was the other option?

IC: By the time Query is finished, the guards are just managing to gather their wits.

OOC: O.O Well... glad I chose tails.

IC: Two manage to get up and stagger towards the door. They can't put up much of a fight, but they try anyway.

"Where'd that bastard go?"

"I dunno, somewhere..."

They both rush inside as fast as they can to search.

"And that's the end of phase one..." I stroll out remarkably pleased with myself except for one small thing that was putting a damper on my spirits.

He wouldn't know it was me.

So once I was outside, I point the end of my cane at the house and draw on the house a very large green question mark.

Now for phase two, I've got to find a way to get him and someone dishonoable to talk her for my viewing.
