Ministry of Magic (British)

-This was a gamble.. but if it worked, it could pay off big time.-

Descole straightened in his seat.

Hershel took a few steps toward Cynder and nodded.

"Go ahead, Cynder."

A pause, the girl looked to the woman who had called Topher an urchin.

"First- I want to say something."
A pause, she seemed to spit daggers at the woman

"Topher is not an urchin! He is a brave and honest boy, and he's right about you- all of you."

A pause, she gathered herself.
"That's all."

And now, the pawprint on her chest gave a large glow, her eyes gleaming along with it as the dragon took over.
It's serpentine and wingless body stood it's full length, curling slightly, eagle claws flexing on the ground and she turned her doglike head toward the offending side.

She gave a soft growl and snorted, shaking her mane, whiskers thumping gently against her body and whipping out as a slight breeze seemed to shoot around her.

Layton smiled and held his hand out to her, to which she licked.

"If you all would- this is Justice. Cynder's told me about her. It's true they're different beings, but each has an influence on the other. Justice is just as human as all of you.
Would anyone like to greet her themselves?"

-I step forward completely unafraid- "Hey Cynda'!"

The dragon's head twitched to the side and a smile seemed to crawl over it's lips as it bounced forward, toward Joachim, lifting her neck and pressing her moist nose into his neck with a little snort, glad to see a friend of Cynder's.

Justice really forgave fast.

At the woman's question, Layton turned his head to the woman and tipped his hat in greeting before nodding, a serious but faint smile on his face.
"In her own way, yes."

The dragon's head twitched to the side again, and she seemed to slouch slightly, lowering her head, serpentine body curling and twisting as she walked away from Joachim and to the woman.
Her head was low, ears pressed to her skull in waryness, mane shifting between the horns on her head.
She smelled the stranger's hand momentarily before locking eyes with her, a searching look on the dragon's face.

ironically, this is the only nice auror on the opposition...

Cayden watched without word, scanning the room, something was off but she couldn't place it...

The opposition had grown eerily silent, as if they were waiting with anticipation. The auror that was stood before Justice wore a calm and kind expression, entirely genuine.

"As you can see... Justice is quite capable of sentient thought and feeling, just like you or I."

Layton couldn't help but smile.

"Mr. Strayer is correct. Justice is as adept to feeling and emotions as you or I."

He watched quietly as she dragon pulled her head away, looking at the auror with searching eyes before again pressing her nose to the woman's hand, letting out a soft series of clicking, almost like a purr before stepping back and shaking her mane again.

"Very good, Justice. If you'll let Cynder take control again?"

The dragon looked to Layton and nodded, shifting back to human form.
The girl remained stony, her eyes turned to the ground.

Layton spoke kindly to the other side.
"So, you see? Justice is forgiving and kind. It takes team work for the two of them to make a decision, but both girls are kind- thus meaning she will only attack when forced or afraid. Like a stray dog."

-I can't help but look at Descole and long for the day I can bring him in here.-

-I stand up at last.- "SILENCE!"

Shock crossed over the top-hat man's face.

Layton ran to the woman's side, grabbing her wrist and checking for a pulse.

Cynder gazed on, wide eyed.

"I... I didn't.. that wasn't..."

-The Strayers jump forward toward the opposition, their backs turned to Cynder to defend her.-

Artisan: "Who did it?!" -I demand-

Layton stood, looking down at the woman with a puzzled expression.

He turned away from the opposition as he put a hand on his chin, closing his eyes in thought.

Descole remained calm, collected.
He stood quietly and spoke in a loud enough voice to break through the tension.

"Now, now... I don't want to have to hunt any of my co-workers. Whoever did this crime will speak up now... or Justice will sniff you out, and I will allow her to shred your insides without a word against her.."

-I bend down and begin inspecting the fallen auror.- "Definitely killing curse."

Cynder swallowed and looked at Meredia quietly, nodding with worried eyes.

"I knew something like this would happen."


Descole, however, turned and looked at Cayden lazily, stepping from his spot toward the offending side.

"If you will, Auror Cayden- I prepared in case something happened that this side was unsettled. We could... oh, investigate. Just quickly, seeing as how I would rather we get on with this."

A pause, he pulled a bottle of clear liquid from his pocket. The bottle was rather large, as if it might contain polyjuice or something of the like, though it wasn't that.

"Veritasyrum.."

"I wil personal observe it to ensure there's no... misconduct." -I stare at Descole accusingly.-

The man obeyed swiftly, handing Cayden the bottle before turning his face to Crest and giving a laugh.

"Hah! Misconduct? With truth serum? What will I do, give them so much their brains leak from their ears? No, Strayer- I'm not that kind of man.."

a pause, he again turned his face to Cayden, eyes shrouded under his mask.
"And that's pure veritaserum. Not tainted by poison, underbruewing or overbrewing."

Cynder, meanwhile shivered slightly and hugged her sides, unable to hide the fear in her eyes.
"She's a good woman, but... Those other people.."

"Oh you'd find a way for this to suit your needs Descole, after all, EVERYTHING exist for YOUR favor, doesn't it?"
