Knockturn Alley

Spikes knife touched Artisans collarbone searing as though it had just been pulled from white hot flames " don't worry I wont kill you now. I'm far too amused."

I spit in his face, "I'll make you regret this..."

Spike ignored him putting more pressure on the blade " you'll be the one with regrets when I'm done with you.." He pulled the knife away "tell Jinx I enjoyed our little visit the other night." His eyes glowed blindingly bright and he was gone in an instant.

Ace skulked the alley, head dipped low and gaze averted firmly to the floor. Her signature brown baseball cap was placed carelesly on the side of her head and it was her only identification. The rest of her body was draped with baggy clothes, hiding her feminine shape. Due to the ongoing battle at Hogwarts, she'd been advised to leave until the fight was over.

For once, she'd taken someone else's advice.

Creeping silently through the doors of an all too familiar bar, she located her old seat and perched herself upon it, bored. She had already pulled out her chess board, the corner of her lips tilting upwards at the whispers echoing around the bar.

"That's Ace, isn't it? He's back.."

A slight nod of achknowledgement was all they received, she'd spent a lot of time here before, just sitting alone, playing chess.

The odd sense of deja vu had followed her as she repeated this action.

It hadn't been difficult to find out that Ace had left Hogwarts for the time being. After returning from Tibet, Eagle has been looking for her - or, hopefully, I.Q., so he can wring his neck.

Eagle stops dead in the street, frowning. He shouldn't be entertaining such thoughts. He might consider himself to be justice, but he isn't the executioner.

Still scowling, Eagle continues to wander, now just hoping to find Ace.

Almost nervously, he eyes the door to a bar. He's never set foot in one before; he's never had a reason to. Eagle knows that some people who have had perhaps a little too much to drink can be coaxed into talking. Perhaps it would be beneficial to go inside and ask around a little.

Only once he's inside and managed to get a good look at the people that haunt the bar does he notice that he isn't exactly inconspicuous. Oh well. Too late now.

Yay, more threats, he thinks sarcastically. He flicks his gaze over the room, looking bored, until they settle on a familiar disguise. Being a fairly good actor, Eagle keeps the smile that threatens to appear off of his face.

Sending wary glances at the others, he goes to join her. He takes the seat opposite and nods at her, emotions fighting for place in his eyes: amusement, relief, love and anger.

"In Tibet," he murmurs. He looks down at the table, glaring at it. "There was a confrontation with that person that sent me the riddle and the postcards."

'I.Q.' she stated, slotting the pieces easily together in her head. 'What happened?' Ace grasped his hand, knowing nobody was looking for now. 'You should've told me..'

IC: "I'm sorry, it was a sudden decision." He holds her hand tightly, as if by doing so he can keep his anger in check. When did I become so... aggressive? "And yes. I.Q. He taunted me, Ace. About you. About how I was holding you back, keeping you from your full potential..."

Eagle looks up, his expression tortured. "If I am, please tell me... I would never want you to feel like you can't do something because of me, you know that..."

Eagle understands her reasoning. He has had several aliases over the years, after all. "He's..." He shakes his head, his irritation returning. "He seems very certain that I am bad for you."

"He's unbearable," he mutters, resting his chin on his free hand. "And so is jealousy. He has much to be jealous of, though." Eagle blinks at her. "You are a wonderful person, after all."

"Please, I'm not exactly brilliant boyfriend material."

"To me," he replies, his cheeks going ever so slightly pink.

He chuckles. "I suppose when one isn't aware of cliches, one accidentally uses them."
