The girl was bored, kicking a can aimlessly down the road, ignoring all the stares and mutters she picked up from various muggles.
bitches must think i'm deaf or something.

Amaya felt no inclination to be at school, just wasting as much time as she could.

"Hey..." I walk out to her, "feelin' bored too?"

Amaya shoved her hands in her pockets, nodding slightly. 'Yeah. School's a bit weird with everyone acting like Crouch isn't a psychopath.'

"Well, hey, better he not act like it then act like it..."

'But hey, what do i care' she kicked the can again, watching it rattle and tumble further away from her.

"Ya know I heard he helped out one of the Nuel dames, I forget which one..."

"helped." she put in inverted commas. 'Like politicians who have pictures of them holding babies to make them look better.'

"Ehh, I don't know, it ain't my business..."

'Guess it has to be mine since he murdered half my family.' her tone was sharp, but still maintaining an indifferent air.

"Then it's my business too." I hold onto her, being completely serious.

'Thank you.' she exhaled, only just realising how tense and agitated she'd become. Carefully, she removed her hands from her pockets and put them around him.

A thick russian accent spoke from behind them, "Joachim... the only business you have is with me."

Amaya didn't let go of Joachim, staring pointedly at the man. 'Actually, i'm his girlfriend, and he ain't an object you can throw around.'

"You're not a relevant factor in this. He needs to fulfill his dad's debt, not you."

'His debt is my debt.' she glowered at him, knowing she had a hell of a lot of money stored in Abonacci's inheritance that she'd refused to use.

"maya, what are ya talkin' about?"

'If you've got some "debt" to pay off, then i'll help ya.'

"His debt goes past money. He has to serve me for what his dad and friend did."

'That's a bunch of bullshit.' she said flatly, not backing down. 'He isn't a fucking slave. It's not his fault who he's related to.'

"If he wants to live, he damn well is."

'Fuck you man.' she threw a knife at him, pissed off. 'Joachim's my boyfriend, he sure as hell ain't gonna belong to your greasy ass.'

Having learnt from Abonacci a bit, I reach out and grab the knife before it touches me.

"He does already! Now come along Joachim or this WILL get ugly."

aw fuck, well, i got a gun. Her fingers started reaching for it, before stopping. 'What if i went instead? I'm more valuable than one thief.' she gave Joachim an apologetic look as she spoke. Amaya would reveal her trump card if she had to.

"You lie..."

'What am i lying about?' she challenged, being sincere. 'I'd do this for him y'know. And there was a reason why I got Abonacci's inheritance over my older siblings.'
