Topher: "that's really kinda depressin' guy, ya don't ever sneak out or anythin'?"

Enzo: "It seems hou art aware of disappointment in the question of existence?"

"It would be against my oath, and thus cost my life."
The man replied swiftly, straightening.
"Only when asked may I explore the world about us."

Disappointment in existence...

Pitch furrowed his brows, turning away from Enzo.
"I have lived longer than even the books can count. I am thought a myth, hardly even known... Not many even see me, either. Thus, to answer your question, yes.."

Topher: "I'll tell ya what Erik, meet me back in my room later tonight, and I'll show ya around.."

Enzo: "I suppose I understand what you mean. My existence is questioned as well, however min hath proven to have benefits."

"But Young Master Topher, that-"
Erik stopped short, thinking, scowling.
A strange yearning tugged at his heart and mind, and he made a huffing, upset sound.
"If the Young Master commands, I will obey."

"Quite."

Pitch stood in silence for a moment.
His mind twinged with an agonizing sorrow momentarily, and he reached up to his neck.
Pressing his fingers to a place at his chest, again groping for something that was not there, he gave a long sigh.
"... Quite..."

Topher: "And seriously, guy, quit it with the master stuff. I'm not better than anyone."

Enzo: "Fear not... Although I suppose that's rather nonsensical to say to you. Both our existences shall be known by the world."

"But young master, you are! Better than us and near equal to Master Enzo!" Erik insisted, blinking in confusion, unable to understand why Topher thought the way he did.

A distracted smirk arose over Pitch's lips, and his cold eyes turned to Enzo.
"Fear not? Ah, that is the one thing I cannot feel. Fear. Being the master of it, it is a perk.."
A pause, he exhaled slowly.
"Ah, just like the dark ages... what a wonderful arising this will be..."

Topher: "Think of it like this, you've been with Enzo for years now. He's probably taught ya things I don't know."

Enzo: "it shall be for us both min friend, please enter, allow me to show thou our sanctuary."

Erik gave a scowl and a shrug.
"In a way. But we all know we will not be near him in power. We are the stronger of the following, but- ... there are weaker of us. It makes me wonder what our real use is here. As fodder, perhaps?"

The Nightmare King gave a thoughtful look, and then a small nod.
"Very well. Though if I choose to stay within here, I will either seclude myself in one's mind, or in a room free of these... crystals. I'm not too fond of the light they put off.."

Topher: "Could be. In a world where the strongest rule, there's not much use for the weaker except to devour..."

And with all I read on my grandfather that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Enzo: "Understandably so, I'm afraid our best work is done in the absence of darkness."

"... that Pitch man,"
Erik finally piped up, after a moment of silence.
"I know he is supposed to, but he unnerves me. Almost like there's another side we aren't seeing.... why Master Enzo trusts him confuses me..."

Pitch wrinkled his nose in distaste, as he glanced around at where they were.
It unnerved him. Hardly a shadow to be seen- which meant a quick escape was not happening any time soon.
"I see..."
He hissed to himself and hunched his shoulders, obviously upset to be somewhere so bright.
"I can tell you that with me around, darkness will exist whether you want it to or not."

Topher: "can I be honest with ya, Erik?"

Enzo: "So long as it is not at the expense of myself or my stronger subordinates, I shall allow it."

The cultist looked to Topher, cocking his head.
"Yes, Young Master Christopher?"

Pitch's expression was dark, and he scowled.
"I'll do what little I can. I live elsewhere, so I will not be staying constantly here. Now, where are the chambers of the one I am to feed from tonight?"

Topher: "Honestly guy, it's just Topher. And I don't really trust my grandfather, I just want to talk and find out my heritage."

Enzo: "His name is Erik, a rather loyal one but alas not as promising as a few of the others."

An almost alarmed, but interested look crossed over the man's face.
"You mean... you do not mean to stay?"

"Erik?"
Pitch raised a brow.
"The one who took Topher to his quarters? Oh, yes.... afraid of death, he is.."

Topher: "'fraid so... I've read terribly things about him and I want to see if it's true."

Enzo: "But just allow me one training session with him before you do to see if he truly is a lost cause or not. Perhaps he merely lacks motivation."

Terrible things?
Erik scowled, and straightened. The one wavering emotion he held found it's way into words.

"... the things I've seen Master Enzo do... it sickens me quite often... I think he can sense it, but I'm almost scared of him. I'm not the strongest here, I'm not much in his eyes... I'm almost glad you will not stay."

Pitch smirked.
"Very well. Though his fears might surprise you, if you knew all of them. You're part of all of it... and he might not be as loyal as you think.."

Topher: "Why not come with me then? I can show ya somewhere to go."

Enzo: "Yes I have felt that. But I shall give him one more chance if thou will excuse me."

There was thought in the man's expression.
Erik frowned, then, slowly, hesitantly, shook his head.
"I'm afraid my time here is short, Young Master Christopher... or... er... Topher. And leaving here would just make my farewell even more... painful.."

The Nightmare King gave a thoughtful look, and then nodded.

"Very well. Good luck with the man.."

Enzo: I walk into Topher's room and address the both of them, "Erik. Hath thou made sure min grandson is settled?"

Erik looked up hastily, giving a deep bow to Boniface.

"Yessir, Master Enzo. I am sure Young Master Christopher will be quite all right..."

"Most excellent, now could thou come with me?"

A half-worried look flashed over Erik's face, and he looked to Topher before nodding to Enzo.

"Of course, Master Enzo..."

"Wait a sec... look um... pops?" I look up at him nervously, "I want to know something."

The cultist looked up, to Topher, almost worriedly.
He did not want the boy to cause more trouble, but all the same....
Enzo could get easily mad. And who would anger be taken out on? Topher? Himself, the others?
He hoped to whoever was up in the sky that Topher would ask a good question.

Enzo: "What is it boy?"

Topher: "What do you plan on doin'? Not just with me, but with everyone here, Erik and the rest of 'em?"
