Quidditch Pitch

"No, I'm alright." I settle more comfortably against him, freeing the arm trapped between us to wind it around his waist. "I'm good with this."

'as you wish.' there was a faint smile tracing his lips, but he barely acknowledged it.

However, he grew restless easily, so he asked another question. 'Does your leg really bother you then?'

"Depends," I admit. "I ignore it most of the time, it doesn't get in the way, really. If anything, it's a battle scar. It's just... it stops me doing some things, you know?"

I glance over at him. "Like fighting properly. I can't dodge curses as well as I could before, because my leg is stiff. I won't be able to keep my balance and I'll fall, turn into a hindrance rather than a help."

'I'm sure your family appreciates the effort though, it's better than just being lazy and doing nothing.'

"I haven't actually, uh, done anything since it happened," I confess. "I haven't been asked to help with anything."

'That's because nothing has happened.' he stated, laughing almost complacently

I roll my eyes. "You know what I mean. Not a single request for my help with anything - at all. Not even a call to help someone with some homework. Not that I'd do that."

'Seriously Pixie, nothing at all has happened.' he insisted, shaking his head. 'Nobody's requested me either.'

"Or maybe we've just been left out of the loop. As King and Queen Sadist, we're hardly the most desirable of assistants," I chuckle.

'Maybe not, but i do have... valuable assets to some.' he worded it oddly, shaking his head at himself. smooth.
'Although i'm surprised Phoenix hasn't spoken to you much.'

I actually look disappointed at the mention of her. I really do care about Phoenix. "I haven't seen her in a while. It's not like we're always hanging around each other, but..." I shrug. "I dunno."

'You'll be alright, she's still your sister at the end of the day.' he tried to be encouraging, but he knew next to nothing about family.

I smile wryly. "She's stuck with me, thank God she doesn't mind it."

'I don't think she really has a choice.' he commented, stifling a snort. 'You don't choose family.'

My smile saddens a bit. "But you know what Phoenix is like. She'd never turn away family, ever. Just look at the Strayers; we only found out we're related a few months ago, and welcomed them with open arms. Even Crest, and he's worse than me in some ways."

'Crest.' he repeated, lips pursing in a taut line. 'Me and Crest aren't exactly best friends..'
He knew Pixie would always be safe with the Strayers, but that didn't stop him disdaining them.

"He's more of a robot than Eugene was," I snort. "Seriously. At least Eugene changed quickly and is nice to everyone. Crest isn't."

'crest is also under my contract.' he finished in a plain tone, keeping a blank expression. 'He doesn't care at all.'

"He is? Huh. I guess it would be against the rules to ask what for, wouldn't it?"

'Yup.' in all honesty, it was only a long web of previous contracts that had led to him... accquiring crest. 'Sorry.'

"Whatever." I shrug. "You gotta do what you gotta do."

'Wow, no slaps or complaints?' he remarked, caught off guard for once.

"Why would I do that?" I raise my eyebrows. "It's how you do things, I'm hardly going to be annoyed with you for that."

'I've practically enslaved your br-' he stopped himself, knowing it was futile to start arguements.

"There's nothing I can do about it," I say coolly, making an attempt to stop the conversation right there. "Nothing I can do, no point getting in a huff over it."
