The Great Hall

He watched her go a small chuckle escaping him wondering what she could possibly have planned.

She was sat at the ravenclaw table, small bags under her eyes- showing her lack of sleep. Her hair was tied in its normal bun, but not neat, there was pieces of hair coming loose

Lewis dragged himself into the Great Hall.

Every time I enter this place it never ceases to amaze me.

He noticed someone who appeared to be sat by themselves. He approached them, slow as ever, trying to determine whether they were alone.

"Hi there." His monotone voice didn't allow an echo, no matter how loud he spoke.

She looked up, her eyes full of hope before fading back to normal. 'Oh. Hi.'

He noticed the emotion fade from her eyes.

Am I not the only one...?

Lewis drowsily extended his large hand.

"My name's Lewis. I'm new."

'Krystal.' she took his hand and shook it, forcing a smile to her lips. 'nice to meet you.'

Lewis couldn't help but notice the smile.

Perhaps not then.

His hand returned to his side, scraping against his satchel.

"Is something the matter?"

'that obvious?' she let out a hollow laugh, shaking her head. 'My brother has left the school because of a broken heart. my family is split....Ive lost everyone i care about.'

Typical. People always have to be so emotional.

Lewis had no idea how to react in this situation; how was he supposed to know how to help someone with their problems, let alone problems this serious?

He thought for a second, before coming to a conclusion of what to do. Reaching into his satchel, he pulled out some Red Vines, and offered the packet to the girl.

"Want some?"

red vines. what cant they do?

She looked at him, and laughed, pulling on out of the pacet. 'Thanks.'

Did...did that actually work...?

After she had taken one, Lewis quickly retracted his hand carrying the packet. After all, they were his. He took one for himself, and replaced the packet in his satchel. He began chewing on the Red Vine.

"Mind if I sit with you?" His voice was now muffled by candy, as per usual "I find it helps get an understanding of a community to know as many people as possible."

she guestued to the empty seats. 'Sure, sit.'

Lewis claimed the empty seat, and began finding a comfortable position for his temporary nest. He settled with himself leaning his back on the chair, as if someone were leaning a plank of wood on it.

"I feel I am obligated to ask about these family problems of yours." Lewis did not make eye contact; he was busy fiddling with a new Red Vine he'd taken from his satchel.

'You dont have to ask. i doupt you would understand.'

Lewis continued to fiddle with the Red Vine, stretching it and twisting it to his will.

"Try me. I had family problems myself. These sound rather similar."

His voice seemed as though he were reminiscing, rather than bringing back bad memories.

;I had 4 siblings once. Tomas and i are the last ones left, and he has left me now. I am a blood triaitor, not only that, but I am a realtion to the dark lord. My family are doomed.'

The Dark Lord himself? Interesting...

"So," Lewis finally made eye-contact with the girl "You're telling me that the reason you're upset is simply because no one in your family is there for you?"

Lewis sighed. Truly he did not understand the girl's predicament, let alone what she was feeling. He placed the Red Vine into his mouth. He suddenly realised something she said.

"Did you say something about your family being 'doomed'?"

'No. i am upset because there is nothing i can do to help them. because i cannot be there for them.' She sighed. 'And yes. doomed. my sister in law believes her family is cursed not to love...i believe my curse is to love too much.'

"That's some logic I can agree with." This forced an unnatural smile to grow on his face "After all, you only share a fault common to all humans. You can't be upset for that." He again turned to her "And hey, not being able to love is far from a curse. I can tell you that from experience."

Lewis urged for a jawbreaker. The smile vanished from his face, so he could concentrate on the delicate process of retrieving one from his satchel in a single hand motion. The jawbreaker was in his mouth before the girl had a chance to respond.

just got back from school, shut due to snow :3

ic The boy pulled a hood up over his head, knowing he didn't want to tackle all the confusion that would surround him. It had been a while since he'd been here, or done anything for the matter.

Being restored to life was kinda weird like that.
