Crouch's Redemption (RP)

".... cruel people don't deserve friends or followers."

She spat coldly, shaking her head, returning her attention to Ivan.
Her heart ached with saying this, though. It hurt.

I scoff, "You'd be foolish to not follow me. After all at the end of the day you have to ask yourself who's worse. Me, or the dark lord?"

Her voice came quicker than her judgement.

"You're both the same."

I chuckle humorlessly, "I at least have loyalty to my family."

"... are you insulting me, my family?"

Her eyes turned dark, as she straightened, faced Crouch, and scowled.

"... You're more than cruel. You're hopeless, sick.... Go back to your Dark Lord, kiss his feet like you know you want to. I could care less..."

"I wasn't insulting your family, you fool." I confess to her truthfully, but still angrily.

"I love my family and I will fight for them."

Cynder bent, to help Ivan to his feet.

The Russian kept a flat expression, though the way he glanced at Crouch- a manipulative and cruel, almost snide expression.


The girl helped hold him up, watching Crouch coldly, not believing a word of it.

"You've lied to me all the time. You're right, I am a fool."

"And yet if memory serves... I was not the one who almost got you and the Catholic to break up. But someone else in this room did." I point to Ivan.

"Do you truly find him trustworthy? I know the Dark Lord. Just from the number of snake wouns I can tell the Dark Lord was pondering how to use the unbreakable vow to his advantage."

Cynder tensed, scowling.

"... everyone deserves a second chance. Everyone does. I've given you more than what you deserve."


She turned to leave, but stopped, pausing, glancing at Ivan.
His sweet face was blank, but still contorted in pain.

"... what do you mean?"

"I'm actually rather surprised you don't see it. He reported back to the Dark Lord, he was displeased so he let Nagini attack him, apparently she was very hungry from the wounds."

"Lucky for him though, the Dark Lord came up with a use for him and called off Nagini, hence his being here."

"Da, and how does he even know that?"

Ivan spoke with a twist of pain in his voice, looking over at Cynder, who in turn glanced to where Crouch was.

"... What are you trying at, helping me...?"

"I'd very much like to know what the Dark Lord ordered you to do. The reward is your life..."

I chuckle, "Admittedly, not a grand reward, but value is a matter of prospective, don't you think?"

Later that day I'm out looking for DE to take my misery out on, it was strange hunting ones I once called brothers and sisters.

I come upon the sight of three, no, four DE transfiguring Topher's shoes to lead and move to throw him into the Black Lake. Admittedly I find this humorous, but I need to gain me some allies.

They throw him in and he starts sinking.

One jet of fiendfyre later, the DE are dead and I look into the lake. I could leave Topher to his fate and walk away with a victory...

But if I save him I could win more support to use to my advantage...

Cynder felt her own heart race as she saw Topher, and Crouch looking at him.
Of course, doubt did cross her mind, but she ran forward, all the same.

"Crouch, Get him out of there!"

Of all days she wasn't wearing her swimming suit..

Come on Crouch we all know you have a heart and your not living by sheer will power...

then again... Wouldnt come as a shock

"This better be good..." I jump into the lake and hold my breath swimming near his sinking form.

I take off his shoes and drag him up to the surfaces and take him ashore where I promptly drop him.

Way to go Crouch, you've managed to be a hero and a jackass at the same time. Congratulations.

Cynder felt herself relax, kneeling and helping Topher.

"Toph, you okay..?"

Topher: I cough up some water but stand up, "yeah... yeah I'm good. Thanks for savin' me Cynder."

Crouch: I watch from afar.

Cynder frowned carefully and shook her head.

"Don't thank me, it wasn't my doing. Turn around..."

The girl motioned carefully to Crouch, giving a soft grin.

Topher: I look up at Crouch and start moving back in fear, "Crouch... you saved my life..."

Crouch: "Are you deaf? You just heard I did."

Topher: "Well... hey... thanks" I say rather awkwardly.

Crouch: I scoff, but somewhere, in some forsaken part of myself, it feels oddly... good to be respect not feared.
