'I know it's related to your Dad and stuff but...can we go flying?' her expression became eager and hopeful.

He nodded. "Sure. It doesn't bother me to fly." He stood and walked to his closet. He opened the door and pulled out two Nimbus 2001's. "Here we go." He grabbed her hand and lead her back down the stairs.

She gave his hand a quick squeeze, minding her feet on the staircase as she descended with him. 'This will be the first time I've flown since...'

"In about two weeks," he finished. They got down to the ground floor. He called to his mother in Bulgarian, "Mom, we're going to go fly. Please don't disturb us unless necessary."

She picked out a few words, but she wasn't very good with languages. Mer wandered outside before saying quietly. 'You'll have to tell me if I'm flying too high, I can't actually tell...' The girl hopped onto her broom, taking off slowly.

He smiled. "Sure thing babe." He mounted and took off after her. "You're wobbling a bit, keep your balance," he reminded her calmly.

She nodded, concentrating on keeping still as she continued ascending, smiling a little when the air pressure seemed to drop. 'I've missed this, isn't that strange?'

He kept up with her easily. "No it's not strange at all. I miss flying all the time." He flew beside her slowly.

She smiled a little, hearing his voice beside her. 'Even though your Dad is making you hate it so much?'

She veered to the side, taking Tide with her. 'I guess so, I don't think I'd make the gryffindor quidditch team somehow.' she laughed a little.

'Sorry, i'm still not very good at flying.'

He laughed. "No I don't think you've got flying down enough to be on the Gryffindor team. Sorry babe." He brought her hand up and kissed it.

'I don't think I'd be very good at quidditch anyway, I wouldn't know where all the stuff was.' she still smiled, hiding the small glimpse of pain in her eyes, she was desperate for sight as usual.

He squeezed her hand. "It's okay. You don't need your sight, you've done amazing so far without it."

'But I do...and I feel really bad for caring, it hurts.' Mer could feel her eyes sting with the threat of tears, but she tried to ignore it.

He shook his head. "I don't know how else I can convince you Mer. You're not going to start living until you accept yourself Mer. Just the way you are."

He shrugged, "Accept the fact that you're blind. You can't do all the things others can, but you aren't incapable of doing many things. You dance, you fight, you fly!"
