She instantly clamped an arm around Tide's waist, pulling him close to her, keeping her perky smile plastered on her face. 'Hi Mrs Dimitrov!' Darn...don't get angry Tide, please.

He rolled his eyes, still having not faced his mother. "Well I thought we'd be alone." He turned around. "Hello mother," he said stiffly. "Why are you back so early?"

Hanna came closer. "Hello Meredia." She stopped at her son's cold tone. "I needed a break. I came back home for a few weeks."

'I hope you are alright.' She continued looking at Tide, unsure what else to say, wondering if they should just go back to Hogwarts.

Hanna smiled warmly at Meredia. "Oh yes, I'm quite alright my dear."

Tide asked the question that had been bothering him since he saw his mom. "Where's dad?"

Hanna looked at Tide, knowing why he was being so cold. He didn't want to see his father. "Don't worry, he's somewhere in Italy at the time."

Tide visibly relaxed. "Okay."

She rubbed Tide's shoulders comfortingly. 'You do need to patch up your relationship with your Dad, Tide. At least you have one...'

Hanna nodded in approval of Mer's words. "He doesn't hate you Tide. He wants to know, but you push him away."

Tide raised a hand to stop her. "Look, I am not this discussion right now." He grabbed Mer's hand and lead her up to his room. "Don't bother us," he called back down to his mom. In his room everything was the same as when he left it. He let go of Mer's hand and sat on his bed. He lay back, groaning.

She let Tide pull her upstairs, chewing her lip as she stood, shuffling her feet from side to side. 'I'm sorry, i shouldn't get involved in family matters...' her voice was soft and filled with remorse.

He sighed. "It's not your fault. You want me to be happy." He didn't sit up or even look up, he just kept his eyes fixed on his ceiling.

She flopped down on the bed beside him, speaking gently as she propped herself up on her elbow, trailing her fingers down his arm. 'Talk to me...?'

He propped himself up on his elbow. He spoke his words with absolute clarity. "My father means absolutely nothing to me. As far as I'm concerned he's not my father." He opened up to her.

'Well okay then, that's fair enough considering he left you, but you don't have to be bitter about it. My father abandoned me at birth, i don't really have one either.' She kept her smile simple.

'I'm not angry about it.'

He sat up. "Mer, it's not the fact that he abandoned me once, it's the fact the he continues to abandon me. It's like he doesn't even care that he has a son." He didn't know why all this was coming out all of a sudden. He'd been pretty good at hiding his hatred for his father up until he met Mer.

'Sometimes people can't help it when they have to leave their children, but i know that's no excuse for him.' she reached over and pulled the boy into her arms, hugging him tightly.

'Ever tried having a simple conversation with him?'

He sighed, "Yes, but he doesn't want to talk to me. Whenever I try to talk to him about, I don't know, my life, he switches it to how I need to up my training because I'm getting 'lazy'." He put his arms around her and held her close.

'that's awful....' she whispered quietly and kissed his cheek. 'It's like he sees you as more of an object than a son, I'm sorry Tide.'

"I think he only sees me as the one who will carry on the Dimitrov quidditch name. I mean, I love quidditch but I don't know if I want to play it anymore because my father has made it suck for me." He let her go and put his head in his hands. "My life sucks Mer. You're the only good thing in my life right now."

She gently prised his hands away from his face, taking them in her own, smiling softly. 'You don't have to be a quidditch player you know, you can still play it for fun, not even your Dad can force you to join a team.'
