He was almost in touching distance, she could imagine one of her knives skimming his neck, and sailing past his body. 

Pain blossomed in her ankles, realising she'd let one of the spells hit her. Dragging her useless leg behind her, she refused to give up, holding a measly shield as she discarded the rest of her knives in his direction.

I can't copy so well when injured..

Like a bee, he darted around the air until he had reached Amaya and had his wand pointed straight at her. The shield was the only barrier, "You're pretty good..." He complimented earnestly, but was quick to follow with... "Good, but not Artisan." He smiled at the adjective use of his name.

'You say i'm the one with the motormouth.' With a wink, the shield shattered, crumbling to dust along with yet, another clone. 

Deciding not to pursue this fight any longer, the real Amaya skulked away from the clearing, hiding herself from his view. Being as stubborn as she was, she would never readily admit defeat, either. But she didn't want to waste more of his time; she was sure now he knew of her abilities, she had little else to show him. 

'Can we call it quits now?'

"Sure! Think I pretty definitely won anyways!" He smirked confidently as he gave her a thumbs up. He He tapped his beetle three times and it flew back into his bag. 

"So here's the deal! You got a lot to offer! You're relentless, quick, and very good with them daggers! Your ability to duplicate is also very unique and handy. With a bit of Artisan-brand polish, you're going to be even more awesome!" Artisan prefered focussing on the positive than his gloomy older brother. If Crest were here, he'd only dwell on her problems, however few and far between.

She offered him a smile as she peeked out from her hiding place. 'Well, aren't you a ray of sunshine?' 

Shoving her hands in her pockets, she collected the remainder of her knives, sheathing them back into her belt. 'You got some good moves yourself, i don't usually have to duplicate to get away from anything.' She found it too risky to reveal her abilities to her enemies, especially on a regular basis. Amaya preferred that people didn't observe her fighting tactics too often. 

'What're we gonna work on? I can't see myself using your... stuff.' She pointed to his bag uncertainly.

"Wouldn't work anyway. I put some enchantments on them so they only work with me or my bros." 

"Well..." He smiled as if he knew what to start with, but in his mind he was panicking and drawing a blank. He'd never had a student before, and starting with the basics would be pretty pointless.

"What do you think your biggest deficiency is?"

Fumbling for her wand, she yanked it out of the back pocket of her belt, throwing it at him. 'This. it's practically useless for me. I got horrific grades at Hogwarts.'

"Well..." He starts awkwardly, "I can't help you with a lot of that stuff either. Unless you want to learn some enchantments to turn ordinary objects into Artisan-approved crafts!"

She rolled her shoulders in a shrug. 'I don't know man, i just need to take down a whole group of people single-handed, and i'm used to concentrating on one person.'

Splitting off another clone, the clone wandered towards the edge of the clearing, eyes travelling to the pitifall below.

'I can be a one-man army, if i'm leading an army of toddlers.'

Artisan's idea ignited as a blazing fire of thought and experimentation burned in his head, "Ohhh!! Well in that case, you don't need more training! You need better gear I think!"

Her clone stumbles, toppling off the cliff face before it disintegrates back to dust. 

'Yeah, no kidding. Any ideas? I just like my knives, because they're never gonna fail me.'

"Be that as it may, maybe I can make you improvements to your daggers, maybe a little armor!"

"I mean, you seem to have the whole sneaking thing down pat. But your main concern should be your exit strategy when everyone's gunning for you... so to speak. Maybe I can show you ways to survey a place so you can map out your route ahead of time!"

"Or maybe.." He rambled on to himself about new ideas that cropped in his head one after the other. By this point he had nearly completely forgotten that Amaya was there as he continually spewed out his thoughts verbally.

She tried to follow his train of thoughts, ignoring the nagging sensation in her stomach when she realised she couldn't keep up.

'I have a ... friend who's really good at scoping out an area before i go in. I never had them before, but it's made stuff easier. I heard something about armour?'

She peeked over at him optimistically, drawing a dagger from her belt to see if she needed to physically interrupt him.

Finally he snapped out of his mindful stupor, "Hmm? Oh right! So I can probably forge you a set of armor to help protect you physically and magically. Maybe even augment your magical strength if I bother. Wouldn't impede mobility at all."

'I don't use magic though, surely creating armour which makes me more... magical, is completely wasted.' She pointed out, tapping her fingers by her sides. 'I only ever knew shields from my sisters, and mine are still a bit crap.'

"Okay, less work for me then! So tell me what kind of qualities you want this armor to have. I can make almost... well anything."

She knotted her fingers together, trying not to scratch her head with her nervousness. 'I know a lot about my target. He's not that proficient in magic either, but last time i checked he could turn into a shifter-thing.' 

Amaya hadn't taken the liberty to find out in too much depth.

'His other accomplices will either be... typical grunts, either good at simple spells, or with guns, or both. I'm used to avoiding gunshots, though. Hybrid armour?'

"Alright, sounds easy enough."

"Incidentally, who is this guy?"

Tapping her nose, her tone remained flat. 'Nobody you need to know of, since he'll be dead - or arrested - before he can cause any more trouble.'

She added on the latter fleetingly, knowing she had no hesitation to kill him if necessary. She would spare his life if she could, mainly for the purpose of not being arrested. After all, an auror knew her plans now.

'But yeah, any chance you could get it to mould to me? It'll sound bizzarre, but my clones will need the armour too for this to work.'

Artisan rubbed his hands together enthusiastically, "Transferable material! I've never had to do that before! This will be exciting!"

"So do you have any preferred colors, fashion choices, or anything like that?"

'Yeah. Pink, frilly, and totally not functional.' Her laugh was almost a bark. 'I really couldn't care if it was just a hunk of metal, as long as it does sort of what i want it to.'

Admittedly, she was quietly excited, not wanting to reveal too much in case she was let down. 

'So uh... you don't mind that i might have to kill a criminal? Isn't there laws and stuff against that?'

"I'm totally keeping the frilly just FYI..." He joked as he addressed her question.

"Look, If the guy leaves you no choice and it's to protect yourself or others that's fine, but if you can, try not to. It's rare we have such awesome people here and I don't want to have to chase you down for a needless killing, 'kay?"

Her lip curled with her smirk. 'Like you'd ever catch me. You might know my fancy tricks, but if i can escape my dad's enemies for most of my life, i'm pretty sure some Strayer boys won't be that much of a problem.' She half teased, shoving her hands in her pockets.

'You're really relaxed about me, though. Me and Artemis have been friends for a while, so he knows that i do stuff because i have to, but i kind of expected you to be like Crest.' She admitted.

"Captain Hardass? No way! We don't see eye to eye on a lot of things. He's just too black-and-white for me." He shrugged nonchalantly.

"I doubt he even knows my birthday..." He chuckled to mask some of his hurt. He and Artemis got along pretty well but despite numerous attempts to reach out to Crest, he seemed to regard him as an annoyance and not much more.

She reached over to him, clapping him on the shoulder in a gesture of almost-comfort. 'Ahh come on now. I never saw eye to eye with half of my siblings either, at least yours are still alive. Things can still change y'know?' 

Her smile was weak, but still reassuring. 'Siblings aren't always meant to get on. Learned a lot from fighting my sisters, and Bryn.'
