The Black Lake

"Likewise." With Ace, the constant buzz and need to have something to occupy his mind just... stopped. Eagle was able to relax with her around. It was pleasant to have his mind work at a slower pace now and again.

She let her shoulders relax, the tension draining away. 'So what do you plan to do with Donia?' she was curious, not letting it slip her mind.

"Meet her, I suppose." He hummed in thought, cocking his head at the lake's surface, as if it could give him answers. "I'll need to get some idea of her personality firsthand before I can make judgements."

'Meet her in a setting like here?' She prompted. 'I believe she's an exceptionally good actress... If I'm correct about my hunch.'

OOC Mind if I intrude? Crest has something to say!

"You are." 

Crest stepped out toward them, having been listening the entire time. "I'm after Donia too."

The girl simply held on to Eagle tighter, not quite surprised but startled enough to do so. She regarded him with suspicion, waiting for Eagle to speak instead.

Eagle raised his head, furrowing his brows at the sight of Crest. He stayed put next to Ace, his arm tightening around her a little as well. "What do you know about her?"

'Perhaps we can collate information.' She offered, still wary but wanting to act on her hunch.

"She's supremely intelligent. A very good actress too. She nearly convinced me of her innocence and if I didn't have Artemis's description of her I would've..." 

"I have reason to believe she's a death eater undercover..."

Donia: damn just reveal all my playing cards why don't you?

"Hm." He raised a finger to his lips, chewing the end of the nail thoughtfully. "I could source whatever records she's left behind to add to our compilation."

'There aren't any records.' Ace admitted, ruffling her hair with one hand. 'Not official ones, anyway. I remember May said they met abroad. The only file that exists is Artemis's.' She'd spent nine months looking, she was almost certain there weren't any.

"Ah. That makes things slightly more difficult, but not impossible." Eagle nodded, gaze drifting again as he began to sink into his thoughts.

'Would we be able to see Artemis's report?' She asked, bowing her head in thought also. She wished Amaya would speak to her about Donia, but the girl had remained oddly stiff lipped about the situation.

Crest trusted Eagle for certain, and he knew Eagle was more cautious than him even in terms of who he trusted...

"I can bring it here. Do not tell anyone I have it. Do not tell anyone I am meeting with you to give you anything..." If all of Crest's paranoia was valid, every blade of grass was a pair of listening ears.

Eagle huffed, finding Crest's attempts to keep their meetings private fairly amusing. He didn't feel like it had to go to that extent, but if it made him more comfortable, he'd allow it.

"If it makes you feel better, Crest," he said, "we can meet at my headquarters. It's more private and secure than the school grounds."

"Those terms are acceptable." He turns to walk away, feeling secure now that a plan was taking shape. 

He'd get the files, and then... get Donia.

Her teeth grazed her bottom lip as she chewed on it nervously, reaching for Eagle's hand and lacing their fingers together. 'Whenever you're ready, my love,' she gave his hand a squeeze, half out of worry and half in search of comfort.

I wish Crest hadnt interrupted but he has some of the answers.

"It wouldn't hurt to begin preparing now." Eagle raised her hand to his lips, kissed the back of it, and then stood with his fingers still interlocked with hers. "We'll need to prepare a cell for Donia in case she becomes difficult to handle."

'You can't just imprison a fellow student. Crest doesn't have the warranty to, and neither do we. Its unlawful.' She wanted to play everything by the book. 'Also, there's something I couldn't say when Crest was here...' Ace was still unsure whether to mention it, despite feeling completely at ease in Eagle's prescence,

Given the right motivation, Eagle would gladly imprison a student - only if pushed to, though. He let that particular matter drop, instead tilting his head slightly at Ace. "What is it?" he asked.

She drummed her fingers against her leg uncertainly. 'I've spoken to Donia personally, I didn't quite tell you the truth earlier. I know exactly what she wants.' Ace left it there, staring out across the black lake.
