Stark Tower

Tony turns on his heel and heads towards the computer screens, clapping his hands a few times as if he can just wake up his machinery. "Prepare to be wowed, buddy. JARVIS, project a copy of the blueprints - the corrected ones - and bring up a list of the materials we have available..."

He continues rattling off instructions to the AI, and various screens and lists hover both in the air and on the screens for them both.

I study the blueprint, truly amazed by this jump in technology.

Tony chuckles to himself at Artisan's expression; that'll never get boring. "Where shall we start? It's a big project, we're not gonna get it all put together today. Your call."

"Well let's start with basics. What problems currently exist for it?"

Tony brings up an image of the original suit, which is far bulkier than the current design.

"The thrusters used for flight used far too much fuel and were difficult to control, for one."

"I see.... well I thik I have the solution to that! Add more thrusters to minimize the work on the other ones and allow for more control!

"That could work." Alongside the original design, he projects an image of what the new version should look like when completed.

"Sounds good, anything else?"

"It's already streamlined," he says, gesturing at the new design, "so that's fine... I guess just a way to get it to run off arc energy would be good."

"Hmmm... that's the tougher job..."

"A small arc reactor like mine would be better, I guess... but it'll still need to be hooked up to the suit correctly and made to work with it."

"Alrighty then..."

"We can come to that when we get there, I guess. JARVIS, run some options by us for the thrusters, would you?"

"Of course, sir." Alongside the images of the two suits and the list of materials, JARVIS pulls up another list.

"Man JARVIS sure would've saved me a LOT of time!"

Smirking, Tony pats the screen of his computer, but before he can speak JARVIS cuts in again.

"Thank you, Mr. Strayer. I do try to make things less complicated for Mr. Stark and his friends, and I consider my task complete if I can do so."

"So... do you happen to outsource or is it all you?"

Tony shrugs, sitting in his swivel chair and tapping his nails on the desk. "We have to buy some of the materials, but some of it we've designed. Oh, and at one point Stark Industries made weapons, but Dad's not too keen on that now. Personally, I still think it's got potential."

"Weapons? How so?"

"Muggle stuff; missiles, guns, bombs... you name it, Dad designed it." Tony taps on his keyboard quickly. The images of the suits and lists disappear for now, replaced by photographs. "You know, for muggle wars? They need this stuff."

In a rare moment of insight, I tell him, "Actually men don't need wars..."

Still drumming his fingers on the surface, Tony raises an eyebrow. "Really? You think so?"

"Yeah, war.... Takes things away from people." Like humanity, families, friends...

"It depends what you have to lose." In reality, Tony didn't have much. Despite the fact that hs family had billions of dollars hidden away, there wasn't much of sentimental value Tony held close to him. JARVIS could be rebuilt. His workshop could be put together again.

Really, it was only his closest friend, Pepper, and she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Pepper and his own life.
