Bounded on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, New Smyrna Beach is on the Indian River.

According to the International Shark Attack File maintained by the University of Florida, Volusia County had more confirmed shark bites than any other region in the world in 2007. Experts from the University of Florida have referred to the county as having the "dubious distinction as the world's shark bite capital". The trend continued in 2008, during which time the town broke its own record, with 24 shark bites. An Orlando Sentinel photographer was even able to film a four-foot spinner shark jumping over a surfer, a reversal of jumping the shark.

We appear and i look around. 'You know, i was kidding.'

"And I wasn't." He kept her hand in his and he lead her to a shop along the beach line.

The shop boasted boats and surf boards for rent. Death ignored this and went straight to the counter. A man in his mid-twenties was there looking bored as hell.

"Hello, can I help you with anything?" he asked in a monotone.

Death smiled. "I hear that you guys to shark swims. Am I mistaken?"

'remind me never to challange you again.' I mutter quietly, knowing he would hear.

Need I remind you of a certain angry psychopath that will kill you if Riv gets so much as a scrape?

And you take her to swim with sharks.

That makes sense.

OOC They offer if you want to wear shark-mail, you can go protected. Plus those sharks are probably so used to people that they wouldn't care to attack. this is what I get for watching Shark Week obsessively.

IC The guy nodded. "Yeah, it's five hundred bucks an hour. Plus you need to sign a waver." He looked at Death and River. "How old are y'all anyways?"

Death lied simply. "Eighteen." He looked at River. "You sure you want to do this?"

I narrow my eyes at him, 'Im not backing out. its not like they can hurt us.'

He leaned over and kissed her quickly. Turning back to the guy he said, "Where's the waiver?"

The guy smiled and shook his head. "I'll go get two." He turned and walked through a door behind the counter.

'I cant believe im doing this.'

"You'll be fine, these guys are professionals." He smiled and pulled her in for a hug.

The guy returned with two papers. "Alright, just fill these two out. I called Mike, our shark guy, he said he'll be here in fifteen minutes to meet y'all."

Death took the two papers and two pens. He gave one of each to River and began filling out his paper.

He hands over his form and watches River fill out her own.

Someone else enters the shop. A man in his late thirties, early forties, with greying hair and a beard. "Hey Josh, I hear you got people who wanna go swimmin' with the sharks."

Josh, the guy behind the counter, nods. "Yeah, they're right here. Guys, this is Mike, our shark expert."

I hand back my form and smile up at Mike. 'Hi.'

Josh too River's waiver and checked it out, reading over it quickly. "Alright, all looks good." He went into the back again to fetch stuff for the trip.

Mike smiled at River. "Hey there young lady. Right, now, there some rules we need to go over and a simple course on how to survive, but we'll get to the latter later.

"Rule number one: I'm in charge. I've done hundreds of these things, most of the time it goes great, but sometimes I get that one person that thinks they know everything. Usually gets em bit." He looked at the two teenagers sternly, especially Death.

"Rule number two: Don't panic, for obvious reasons. Rule number three: if ya feel like ya can't do it anymore or you're on the verge of freaking out, give me the signal and I'll bring you back up. I'll show you the signal later.

"Rule number four: don't put your fingers near the shark's face. I don't want your hand to get bit and then start a whole feeding frenzy. Last rule: have fun." He smiled at the both of them.

'Yes, death. dont show off.' I smile. 'Dont worry, mike. you have two perfect teenagers here. We wont do anything wrong.'

He laughed. "I won't."

Josh came back. "Alright. The boat is ready, you just gotta drive it to the pier. You two, let's find you some wet suits." He motioned for them to follow him.

As we follow them, i mutter to death. 'hmm. feeding frenzy on vampire blood. i wonder what would happen if you got vamperic sharks.'

He smirked. "We'll have to be careful not to bite them back." He winked and laughed quietly.

Josh led them to the back and opened up a trunk. "Okay, what sizes are y'all?" He looked at River, "You're probably a small and you're a medium," he said to Death.

Death nodded. Josh pulled out two wet suits. "Go try those on over there." He pointed to a changing station.

I pull it on and frown. 'THese feel horrible.'

"It's not supposed to feel normal. It's supposed to keep you warm and mostly dry while you're in the water. Muggles can be quite creative."

Josh nodded. "Those seem to fit. Grab your clothes and put them in those cubbies there. Take your shoes with you. All jewelry needs to stay here as well. Sharks like shiny things."

'Do i have to take of my wedding ring?'

Josh gave them a strange look and looked down at their left hands. "Wait, y'all are married? I just thought y'all were siblings." He nodded. "Yeah, especially that. Diamonds sparkle like nothing else in the water."

Death took off his ring and put it in his pants pocket. "It'll be fine River."

I frown but take it off. 'Siblings? what gave you that idea?'
