"Paycheck? Oh, at the end of the day, it really matters what you did with your mind. Something I wish you would work harder on.."

"I bet ya were a FUN GUY in highschool.." I roll my eyes at him.

"Highschool? Highschool is for the simple, normal people. I visited if there was anything interesting. But nothing to retain in my Mind Palace. Nothing worth it."

The man gave a long sigh, checking his phone again, irritated at the lack of activity.
"Like what John keeps saying about the Earth revolving around the sun. Information that doesn't matter."

"It's called a joke. Do they not have those on ya planet?"

"Oh, Jokes are quite often used around me. I prefer to deter them with logic."

Sherlock smirked.

"Of course, you wouldn't understand. Your whole life seems to be a joke."

Sherlock's phone begins to ring, Joachim calling to give his info.

Holmes instantly grabbed at his phone, pulling it out, Answering it dully.

(( wait are they still there or did Joa leave or. ))

"Yo Sherly-locks! Got something for you..."

A huffed sigh, Sherlock closed his eyes in exasperation at the nickname.
"That's lovely." He replied, shortly, "get on with it."

"Recruit.."

A pause, a thoughtful nod, Sherlock set his phone on speaker and moved to grab his laptop, checck a few things while on this call.
"Jack Nuel? I've heard of him, once or twice. I suppose many seem him as a threat? Don't answer that, of course they do. Jim wouldn't hire him otherwise. Who else is on his list to-hire?"

"I see."

Silence, Sherlock typed rapidly into his computer before looking to the phone.

"Has he told you any mo-"

"Sherlock, what did you do with the milk?"

"SHUT UP, JOHN."
Silence from the other room, besides a few grumbles. Sherlock resumed what he said.

"Has Jim told you any more names?"

"Take your time... but, preferably, as soon as you can."

A smirk.
"Of course."


Sherlock hung up the phone without another word, and made another call.

"Hello, Mycroft? I hope you are well... I have a little favour to ask.."

Another little visit, another little nudge in the right direction. That was all Jim wanted to do.

He'd even brought a gift for Sherlock.

Jim often ignored his own rules when it came to Sherlock, and this was no exception. This time, he decided to be just a little more polite, and he knocked lightly on the door to the detective's flat.

Perhaps if John had been there, Sherlock would have shouted at the door.

He did like to make a show of things.
But with no Watson to get the door, the detective had to drag himself from his work and slink to the door.

He opened it with an irritated expression and a burning insult on his lips- it never made it out of his mouth as he saw Moriarty standing right there.

"Well, This is unexpected. Hello, Jim."

"Unexpected? Dear me, Sherlock, don't tell me you're losing your touch." He spoke playfully, almost teasingly, as a smile pulled on his lips. When it reached his eyes, though, it wasn't hapiness. More... entertainment.

Jim glanced behind him into the flat, just to confirm that John wasn't present. The doctor did get so annoying sometimes, even if he was a useful piece against his rival.

Still, it was good that he wasn't around while Jim was pushing the game that next little bit along.
