Grand Staircase

"Guilty until proven innocent." I mutter to myself as I walk away.

'We're in England, it's innocent until proven guilty.' she called after him, feeling that need to correct him as she returned to the Slytherin common room.

Otherwise i would've been long rotting in a cell by now.

I'm at the Grand Staircase, sitting down after that encounter with Crest. I wonder what got him so insane...

Damn this is a giant castle, what's more is with moving stairs.
First I meet vampires and now this; man what am I doing with my life? I sit down on the staircase, still pondering what my mom had said to me. She had a real good way of making things stick in my mind
'Dont be afraid of it' she always said. But I wasn't about to start boasting about my fire anyway, I could tell it would attract plenty of unwanted attention.

As I wander the staircase, I notice a girl sitting on one of the steps. I grin, approaching her, "Well hello there!"

I jump as someone brazenly says hello to me. I look up mildly, offer a grunt and then look away.
If you dont say anything they'll ignore you just, Dont. Say. Anything. A torch above me flickered because of my feelings right now

I look up at the torch, raising a brow. Then I look back down on the stranger. "Something on your mind?" I smirk.

I rubbed my hands together and bit the inside of my mouth.
"Actually yes, and I would appreciate it if you didn't intensify my anger." The torch cracked this time, tiny sparks flying. I cursed and started walking away, trying to hide it

I grin maliciously, "It looks like you can control fire..."

I stop, really wanting to char this girl. I turn around and narrow my eyes.
"Yeah, and what's it to you? I'd like to live averagely unlike some people."

I chuckle, "I'm just curious! And why would you EVER want to be average? Average is boring. Why not be extraordinary?"

I clench my fists, desperately trying to keep my anger down.
"Well MAYBE its because I burned half a neighborhood BLOCK when I was little!" I felt heat and I quickly breathed in to keep myself level. "I'm Christian alright? I used to think this fire was a punishment of some kind. And I still hate it..." I look down at my feet

I grin, "You burned half a neighborhood to the ground? That's amazing! How could you take that as a punishment?"

I suddenly found myself telling the whole damn story
"Well it wasn't me, it was my parents and my neighbors. They all thought my fire was the devil's punishment. Some kind of sign that I had fallen from my Christian faith n' what not..." I held back memories of people screaming

I laugh, shaking my head, "I would consider it a gift! You don't have to hide it here, there are many people with special abilities! Witches and wizards, yes, but others with a little bit of extra..." I grin.

Wait what? First Vampires and now witches and wizards? Goddamn my life isnt getting any easier.
"Well if you like it so much why don't you tell me why everyone considered me a monster...!"

"That's simple! Muggles, or non-wizard folk, fear what they don't understand and harm what they fear!"

I just stand there, caught up in memories of people screaming. The sight of fear in everyone's faces when they looked at me, the burning child. Angry tears fall and fire slowly engulf my body
