Gloria: "Family should always come first." She gives Darcy a quick glare, who doesn't notice. "This fool forgot that."

"As for that Sydnay, I do not know. What I do know is you cannot escape being human. A lesson both you and I have learned."

Darcy: "She was like a mother to me, and a Goddess all in one. I was fortunate to have ever met her."

Gloria: "Fat lot of good it did you in the end when you didn't listen!"

"Loyalty should be based on one's loyalty of their subordinates. Had I known this a little sooner, I might not be here."

"I never met Meredia, but from what I've seen she is a very preceptive young woman."

Darcy: "I'm sorry I didn't listen to her mo-"

Gloria: "Don't you dare to even try." Fuming, she stalks away.

Darcy: He bows his head, frowning.

I approach Darcy, "A true leader would never put down her followers, no matter how bad their errors."

"Don't. Don't you dare," I snarl. "Gloria is a wonderful leader; it was I who failed, not her."

"I'm not denying you failed your objective. But a real leader would forgive."

"That is Gloria's way. I do not question it." My face falls as I glance at Phoenix again. "Though, I do wish she would leave my love for her alone..."

Without a word, much like Crest, I approach Gloria, "Why do you insult your follower's affections?"

She sniffs, looking disdainful. "She's a werewolf. He's human. Werewolves cannot be allowed to exist, let alone mix with humans and breed... I know before long Darcy would want heirs, and no doubt they would be werewolves, like the mother. It wouldn't do to have them in the family. No, she can stay with her own kind."

"You revolt me, it is no wonder your cause lost."

Her lip curls. "You wouldn't understand."

"Understand? Maybe back when I was alive I wouldn't have, but now it's crystal clear. My son shall make a better leader than I was."

She snorts. "If I hadn't focused on destroying my traitor of a son, I would still be alive, and that werewolf would be dead."

"Unlikely."

"You see, that werewolf you mention is part of my family. In my experience, my sons would'v done anything to protect their kin. Even join me up here if need be."

"Ah, but did they know back then that she was kin?"

"It wouldn't have mattered if they did or not, she was still their friend."

"When I was alive, I had a strong group of followers... We would have had her in our grasp one way or another. It happened once, and it could have happened again. It almost did if that fool over there hadn't gone soft."
