Phoenix: I chuckle. "He will, you know."

Jim: "I doubt that, dear. Kitten, be a dear and explain to... your friend, won't you?"

I step towards him, easily towering him. "I highly recommend you start using her name..."

Jim: He places hnd on Eugene's shoulder to stop him from coming closer. "I will call her what I like, and if you wish for her to keep her beauty, then you will allow me to do so. Kitten, I told you to explain."

Phoenix: I tug Eugene back gently. "Jim is willing to make an offer."

I swat his hand away, "What is it?"

Jim: He chuckles. "Oh, and by the way, I have no romantic interest in your beau, in case you were wondering. Tell him, Kitten." Looking bored, he turns to look at the lake.

Phoenix: I roll my eyes. "He told me to talk to you first before I decided. Anyway, he said he would give us protection in return for information."

"Protection from what and information on what? "

Jim: He strolls around them. "I know the problem here. Death Eaters everyone. Such a pain, don't you agree?" He continues without leaving them space to answer. "I know they've certainly given you two a hard time, especially Kitten there.
"So. I will protect you two in return for information on everyone. Who's a Death Eater, who's not. Who's strong, who's weak. Who's human, who's not. Get it?"

"And just what are your qualifications?"

Jim: He looks offended. "I don't need any. I'm the consulting criminal. People come to me when they can't do things. Oh, speaking of... I also want information on Mr. Sherlock Holmes."

"Well for the last part, I have no idea who he is."

"As for the rest, I'll discuss with Phoenix, be gone."

Jim: His eyes flash, but he reigns in his anger - this time. "I'll do that, just this once. But know that in future you shouldn't order me around. Poor Kitten might pay the price." He walks away, smirking.

I turn to Phoenix, "How do you know this man?"

"Raven attacked me and Jim pulled her off. But then he goes and pulls a stunt like this..." I shrug. "I can't tell if he's a good guy or a bad guy."

"well I don't trust him." I say firmly, "We should see what he's capable of, and I know just the guy to figure it out."

"Be careful. We don't need any more trips to the HW. Lord knows we've been there enough." I chuckle a little. "Who've you got in mind?"

"Well who better to find out about a criminal THAN a criminal? Joachim might be able to snoop on him, assuming we pay him."

"Worth a try, I guess. Chimmy's not that bad, I'm sure he'd give it a go."

"Yeah, but I don't trust this guy at all."

"And I hate what he calls you."

I pull Eugene into a tight hug, comforting him. "Just ignore it. From what I've heard, he rarely uses anyone's real name."

"I see, but it won't stop it getting under my skin."

"Ignore it," I repeat. "He was calling Raven 'Puppy' - which I find incredibly ironic, given that I'm the werewolf, not her."

"Puppy? Where's THAT come from?"

"I have no idea. Cats and dogs fighting, and since I was already named 'Kitten' for some reason...? I don't know." I shrug.

"huh... odd."

"Very. He is odd though." I pause. "... have you heard from Pixie since she got back?"
