Dumbledore's Office

At the sight of Dumbledore's office, he tensed.

I move him inside, not bothering to be gentle, "Professor Dumbledore, I'm here to report an attempted larceny."

Kai was nearly shaking in his boots. He knew that he was about to face a shit storm.

Dumbledore looked up from some papers that he was working on. "Ah, Crest, how nice of you to stop by. Hello again Kai."

OOC pardon my shit attempt at Dumbledore >_> I'm trying to channel my inner wise old man...

Not returning his greeting, I continue, "The sentence?"

Kai didn't want to look at Dumbledore, but he couldn't seem to look away.

Dumbledore nodded. "What is it that you say this young man did?"

"Entered a dormitory that wasn't his, went through my possessions attempting to steal something."

OOC Meanwhile, Chimmy is laughing his head off XD

Kai finally found his voice and spoke up on his behalf. "Not true. I was just messing things up. I wasn't actually gonna take anything."

Dumbledore looked between the pair. "Did you break into another common room though, Kai?"

Kai looked down at his feet. "Yeah..."

I stay silent, knowing I would hand down a strict punishment. My borderline obsessive devotion to the law left little room for negotiation or mercy to the guilty.

OOC Do you want Chimmy to get dragged into this?

Dumbledore looked at Crest. "How do you know it was this young man?" He seemed skeptical that Kai, who was still new to the school, knew how to get into the Ravenclaw common room. It was a long shot that he even knew where it was.

Kai peered up at Crest.

"His wallet was left at the scene."

Dumbledore looked back to Kai. "Just how did you get into the common room?"

"Uh, the door was left open. I snuck in."

"Unlikely."

"It was! I was told to meet someone up there and he left the door open for me."

Dumbledore looked confused at that. "Did you have an accomplice?"

"What was his name?"

"Joachim. He wanted to knock you down a few pegs by stealing from you. We didn't actually take anything though."

Dumbledore nodded. He knew Joachim. Quite the troublemaker.

OOC Man don't you just hate firedrills?

"That however, is likely."

Kai looked at Dumbledore hopefully. "So am I off the hook?"

"he still aided." I urge him, not opting for mercy

"Crest has a point. You did assist him in breaking into the common room and rummaging through Crest's things."

Kai rolled his eyes and sighed. "Okay, so what's my punishment?"

"A week's worth of detention is fair, don't you think Crest? After all, he didn't take anything."

"Sir... surely this deserves more."

OOC lol I know it's a fair punishment, I'm trying to teach Crest something

Dumbledore blinked. "Why do you think this deserves a stricter punishment Crest?"

"He's broken school rules, not to mention almost a law."

"And I bestowed a punishment that I saw fit for his crime. Why does it need to be any more strict than that?"

I step back, knowing I was nearing overstepping my boundaries.

"My apologies, sir."

Dumbledore nodded. "It's quite alright Crest. Now, Kai, you are to report to Professor Snape every night just after dinner for your detention. Is that clear?"

Kai nodded. "Yeah."

Turning his attention back to Crest he said, "Is that satisfactory for you? I shall punish Joachim as well, so don't think he's getting away with this."
