Big Ben Clock Tower

It looked to be a small triangular peg made of metal.

'What is this...' I mutter, picking it up

The peg seemed for all intents and purposes functionless on it's own. However the length of the peg was covered in small grooves like a key to a door.

I run my finger along the grooves while i think. I wanted to know what this did...but at the same time, I didnt want the auror to know i found anything. 
I sigh, casting a spell to fix the chair before scanning the room to find something that the...thing in my hand would fit in

Nothing seemed to be a suitable slot for the key except for a slot in the door, one that had to be scrutinized for to even find.

i walk over and stand in front of the door, running my hand over the door to find anything. I smile as i find what i was looking for, putting what seemed to be the key into it.

The door shifted, running  from it's original spot sliding against the walls as though the room itself was turning and then.. it set into place with a distinctive clink on the opposite wall, revealing a whole new room which the door now led to.

'Someone really didnt want this place to be found.' I mutter

The door... waited?

I walk through it, carefully looking around

Inside was a lab rather small and conservative but nonetheless well supplied. The room had shelves upon shelves filled with a black smoky essence, as though the aftermath of a campfire was contained inside it. However this essence radiated dread and fear through a passer-by.

I shuddered slightly, already not liking this place. I take a few steps in before taking a deep breath. Wht was this place?

To only add to the horrors inside were moans of despair and anguish. These pitiable groans were heard up ahead.

'Oh youve got be be kidding me.' I mutter, pulling my wand out as i start to walk towards the noice. 'Thats right, Riv. Just walk towards impending doom'

In the next corridors were several... for lack of a better term, monstrosities walking aimlessly around. 

They bore the construction of humans but with skin that decayed as death itself. Gray in coloration and with the texture of a dried fruit, their skin seemed to be wearing them instead of vice versa. The eerie smoke found in the bottles seemed to emit from their bodies in random places. Without any senses of any kind, they bumped into objects or each other as they shuffled around.

That is, until the demon-men all perked up as though smelling something new in the air. The smells of fear and dread and past torments. They all looked toward River and started to move toward her like a flock of undead birds, in unspoken formation.

I freeze, staring at them all with a mix of pity and horror 'You know...when i said impending doom, i was joking.' I start backing away from the...monsters, not wanting to run because i wanted to know wha had happened to htem

The creatures got a few inches off the ground and glided toward her as though a predator ready to eat their prey.

I put up a shield beween us, not even knowing if it would work. 
'Um...really. You dont want to eat me, people. Vampire. One of the undead. I dont taste nice...really.'

Her words might as well have been a flies buzzing as they kept trying to fly through her shield, but to her fortune they seemed to be only partially successful. Any bit of them that emits the smoke seemed to pass through however their normal flesh couldn't get through.

'I swear, If you dont move away from me, i will Make you!' I shout. 'GET AWAAY FROM ME. I WANT TO HELP.'

The creatures persisted, having no sense of rationality to them in the slightest. One of the monsters managed to reach forward and swipe at River through her shield, intending to scratch her.

I scream and jump backwards, starting to fire stunning spells at them

These spells hindered them, just enough to impede their advance.
