The Meadow

'its love to meet you.' I smie. 'Its good to meet the man that shapd the guy i love.'

Antonin laughed. "Well, I did my best."

Death laughed at his father. "I didn't get this way on him alone."

'I know you didnt, but hs your father, he still heped make you thins way.'

He leaned down and whispered in River's ear, "Wanna get out of here? I've got a very special honeymoon planned for you."

'that sounds nice.' I smile. 'Lets go, then.'

"If you'll excuse us father, we'll be leaving." He took River's hand.

Antonin smiled and nodded. "Of course. Have fun." He flashed a cocky smile that was similar to Death's.

OOC to Baden-Baden!

In the centre of the meadow was a simple looking picnic, set on a purple blanket. although there was a scattering of snow on the ground, the air was warm- a waste of magic river thought she might as well use.
However...she was no where in sight

He walked toward the set up. "River, you wanted to see me?"

A single rose appeared in front of him as she stepped out of the trees. She was pale, leaning agaist the tree, waching him. 'Hey.'

He smiled and held out his hand for her. "Come here. I haven't seen you in a long time, love."

She le go of the tree and walked towards him slowly, taking his hand and kissing him on the cheek.

"Why have you called me to this...picnic?" He put his arm around her and gave her a small squeeze. "Not that I'm complaining, it looks nice and all. Our anniversary isn't until Sunday."

She smiles. 'Because i couldnt wait. and i missed you.'

"Well then, let's sit."

She sits, closing her eyes briefly as she took a breath. 'So much has happene in the past year...'

"Yes, it seems so." He studied her carefully. "River, are you okay?"

'Im fine.' she glances up at him but looks away quickly, clenching her jaw. 'Just perfect.'

He sighed in frustration. "River, we both know you're a bad liar so why do you insist upon lying?"

'Because this is about us- I want today to be...happy. Please.'

He narrowed his eyes at her as suspicious thoughts filled his head.

'Oh, dude, she's gonna ditch your sorry ass. She got bored of you and now she's leaving.' Ahriman laughed hysterically.

'Shut up Ahriman. She can't be leaving me. She can't. It must be something else... It's got to be.'

"You're not leaving me, are you?" he asked uncertainly. He hated that his voice gave away his emotions.

'no!' I look at him, shocked. 'What...You knw i would never leave you...not...not intentionally.' I shffle over and lean against him, resting my head on his shoulder. 'I just...i want one day where i can be with you, happy before...'

"Before what, River? You're scaring me. Just tell me what's going on instead of playing a game of cat and mouse with me."

A tear drips down my face. 'I cant disaperate anymore...'

"That's it?" he asked incredulously.

'Are you serious? She gets you all riled up because she can't apparate anymore?'

'No. that was the start.' I stand up and walk away from him. 'I told you i would never leave you intentionally....' I take a ragged breath, the only sign that i was falling apart. 'Death....I went to the hospital.'
