With that I turn and start walking, hoping for sheer convenience Lukas was nearby.

'Then it would do you well to earn it.' he muttered back, running a hand through his hair. The boy let Crouch walk away, staring up at the sky.

A small fox fixated its gaze on Crouch, honey coloured eyes watching his movements. Its five tails swayed with the breeze, but the animal was sharp, observant.

As though reading a poem I tell Lukas, "something is not right in the world Lukas, something is amiss... Any idea what that is?"

The fox rolled over onto its back, still fixating its gaze on Crouch. He had no input for now, just listening to the boy, ears quirking in curiousity.

"I'll give you a clue, you share their species..."

The fox abruptly scurried away, before Lukas strolled back in his human form, ruffling his black hair.

'What the hell are you on about?'

"Don't play dumb with me. I've got ears all over the place."

'So do i.' he pointed to where his ears would've been in fox form. 'My issues are nothing to do with you Crouch.'

"Ah but they are. You see, as one of ny friends and my ace in the hole as things stand now, what concerns you concerns me."

'What, you suddenly care now?' He asked, bewildered. 'the world must be ending.'

"One can only hope." I held no attachment to the world as a whole, just a select few in it. The rest could burn in hell for all I cared.

'Well, i'm fine Crouch. If i'd needed your help, i would've requested it.'

"No you wouldn't have. Lets not kid ourselves."

'and you know that because...?' he was interested to see where he got these conclusions from. 'I'm a kitsune, Crouch, i make contracts to aid me, not so i never use them.'

I smirk, "check the red on your cloak will you?"

'Please.' he rolled his eyes. 'I'm insanely arrogant, not a boisterous idiot.'

"What can I say? I've got a gift with people."

'Lukcily for me, i'm not a person. I don't need your assistance Crouch.' he persisted, growing irritated.

"When your wrong, come and let me know."
