"Don't break the law and I'll keep my end..." He swore.

'Like I could ever break the law.' Meredia was too honest to ever do that. 'But i do have a proposition for you, Desouza to Strayer.'

"That being?"

'Our families both have skills the other doesn't, we should train together.' She began piecing together a shield to demonstrate.

He thought the proposal over in his head, there seemed to be virtually no downsides to this, "Seems reasonable."

But then a thought hit him, "Even Amaya?"

Her brow crinkled into a frown, taking offence. 'What do you mean? Amaya has the best practical skills out of my siblings. What she lacks in magical ability she makes up with quick decisions and physique. '

"I don't deny she's extremely skilled... she's just..." Crest didn't know how to put this, "unpredictable..."

'Your enemy will always be unpredictable.' She stated as fact. Meredia could not see any negatives from training with Amaya.

"... Very well." Crest still had an uneasy feeling about Amaya.

ic 'Just trust me on this one. You'll see she isn't so unpredictable, everyone has a pattern ad the quicker you learn to spot them the easier it is to outsmart your opposition.' It sounded like a quote, and it sort of was because it was the exact explanation Amaya had used.

Meredia finished her shield, wondering if she should ask Crest to test it out.

Crest stayed silent for a moment before swinging a hard kick at the shield, trusting it would hold against him, "Very well... if you trust her... I'll... try to."

The girl winced with the sudden response, but her shield didn't falter. She smiled to herself, glad her specialty in defensive magic was still true. However, the shield only protected her - it wouldn't hurt Crest. 

'You don't need to trust Amaya, just know that I do. Without a doubt.' Most people thought her naive for doing so, but she knew better.

Crest sighed, "It's not personal... I distrust almost everyone equally."

'Okay.' she nodded in acceptance, dismantling her shield. 'did you want to talk to Amaya before we agree to do this? Bryn would want this too.'

Crest nodded his head silently, not terribly eager to do so but he knew it was necessary.

'You'll be fine, she won't bite.' She added with a small chuckle, shaking her head. 'It might be good to sort your differences.'

"I never shriek away from what's required..." He told her as he started to walk off, "Where can I find her?"

'At the inn with Joachim, said she needed some space from us. I think we've given her long enough.'

"That scumbag. Wonderful..." His voice was completely bereft of enthusiasm, but he at least knew he could intimidate Joachim to not interfere with him. 

"Are you welcome there or do I have to break in? I doubt I'm welcomed there."

'She loves  him.' she states flatly. 'God knows why but i'd be careful. She's protective.' 
Meredia rolled her shoulders in a shrug. 'dunno, never been there.'

"You go through the front, I prefer unorthodox entrances..."

'That will get Amaya on the defensive, especially as she's quite jumpy lately. She won't react well to that.' She pointed out.

"But I hate going through front doors, too... " he tried to find the right word, "obvious..."

'Fine, sneak up on a trained assassin, see how well that goes...'
