Ningen Village

Ajolta picked up the items and looked them over, "What good are these against a monster?! If a creature can lose it's head, it can die!"

Polidus raised his hand to him, as his irritation over his slower witted companion mounted, "Ajolta, trust that this man is the authority in this world." He scolded to which Ajolta relented.

"Chopping off its head is no easy feat. They are quick, they can move so fast that they seem invisible. They're so strong that they can rip your heart out and crush your bones with one tiny squeeze. Depending on your strength of mind, they can slip inside, see your life's story, read what you're thinking, and even control your actions."

"You seemed to handle yourself quite well. Product of necessity I'm assuming?" Polidus inquired.

"Experience... lots of experience..."

"Most fascinating... you must have any valorous tales..."

"Valorous... I suppose you could use that word.  More tragic, if you ask me."

"I know not of what deity this land reveres, but in Diarmid our goddess smiles upon those who overcome struggle and adversity and grants them a place in Alagar to defend the Sacred Well by her side..."

"In this land, not many believe any such god or goddess exists..." He grips onto the crucifix he's wearing, "I like to hope that there is."

"As High Priest, I can promise you that at least one does..." He smiled upon him and put a shaky but comforting hand on his shoulder. "I'm sure the Watcher would smile upon you."

The slayer looks at Polidus with sad eyes, filled with tragedy and loss.  "I certainly hope so..." 

OOC So do we want him to meet Bara? :3

Ajolta scoffed, "Come on Polidus, let him wallow. We have more important things to do..." 

Polidus stood up, "Right coming..."

"It was a pleasure to meet you slayer, may the watcher smile upon you.." He bowed graciously to their host and went with his bodyguard to find Bara.

"Be careful on your journey there... Many vampires lurk in the shadows." 

OOC To the palace! :3

The slayer is making his rounds around the village, making sure there are no vampires running around.  Despite how he looks, his senses are quite remarkable.  He listens closely for even the slight snap of a twig on the ground, a stake in hand, ready to slay.

The reaper of diarmid made his way back from the palace. That vampires offer boiled over in his mind.

Complete authority over a fighting force was certainly nothing to scoff at, but the price would be invading his homeland. If not now then eventually.

Clearly more information was needed on this Bara and her aspirations. It seemed unlikely that such a powerful woman's subjects would dare say a word against her, the same might not be said for the oppressed. 

He had heard rumors of the sole human settlement in this land, and decided to seek answers here.

He can hear footsteps nearby, standing completely still now, slowly turning his head.  He can see a fairly muscular man in the distance.  It's too far to tell what creature this man is... But he keeps his guard up, gripping the silver crucifix he wears around his neck tightly.

He could feel the gaze of the man upon him, and his blood begged him to rush forward and strike, to release his animalistic impulses. 

Fortunately though, his battle addiction could be controlled by his tactical mind. He made his way toward the onlooker, with the pride and confidence one expected from a Diarmidian.

"Have you a tale to sow?" He asked the man, with his grip on his blade to signify his willingness to engage him if he meant ill.

He lowers his weapon, but is still very tense.  "You're not a vampire... But you're not from around here either.  Who are you?"

"Tales must travel slowly here to not know me..." He released his grip from his sword, feeling he'd need not a sword if this man tried anything. 

"I am the Reaper of Diarmid, Ovauzhar. Youngest general to ever command the Ignited Brigade, slayer of thousands of Diarmid's foes..." He told him without a shortage of gusto or egotism.

"Ahh... It is you.  Yes, a priest from your realm came and told me about you.  What brings you to this realm?"  The slayer isn't shaken too much, but is still prepared to fight if Ovauzhar poses a threat.

"You mean that worm, Polidus?" Ovauzhar scoffed, "He'd sell his own blade for the emperor's favor..."

"My business is my own. Who are you, ye who askes?"

"I'm the protector of this village.  If you've been here long, you surely know the dangerous creatures that lurk here..."

'How could I not? I just met the most dangerous of them all.'


"I am acquainted with the dangers of this land, aye..." He eyed him as though to inquire where he was going with this.

"You seem to have just come from the palace..."

Ovauzhar stepped closer menacingly, glaring down at the slightly shorter man from about 5 inches higher than him. "And you seem to have a knack for observing things that aren't your business...."

"I do whatever I can to protect this village... And if you are working with Bara, I can't risk anything.  But if you're not a vampire, I do not wish to fight you."
