'I know. but...' SHe shakes her head, looking at him. 'He was the only person i actaully cared about. I pulled away from him because it scared me so much, and i lost him because of it...'

"Everyone gets scared every now and then."

'You're making me look like an asshole.'

'most people dont loose the people they love because they are scared.'

"Wrong. A lot of people lose the people they love because they're scared."

'You've lost River loads of times because she is scared and can't make up her mind worth shit.'

'Shut the fuck up about my wife.'

'but they dont noramlly die...'

He rolled his eyes. "God will you stop blaming yourself for his suicide? It. Was. Not. Your. Fault."

'But i found him. Death...i loved him and o found him too late to help him. The image of him....' SHe closes her eyes as pain flashed on her face. 'Thats going to be in my head forever'

'Oh wow, now I feel kinda bad...'

'Kinda?'

'Yeah, just a bit. Not much.'

"You probably can never scrub that image from your brain, but you can stop blaming yourself."

'I dont know if thatss ever going to happen.'

"Well then, wallow in your guilt because it's your own fault that you're doing so."

'Fine.' She starts walking away from him again

He shook his head and muttered under his breath. "She's just as stubborn as River."

She paused in her storming off and turned to him. 'Wait...can i talk to hmi?'

"You're kind of doing that right now. He can hear you."

'yeah, but cant you just...' She waves her arms, searching for the right word

"Let him take over? No. He no longer has the kind of ability."

she frowns. 'oh...so you can just disapear so i can pretend its just me and im talking?'

He raised an eyebrow, confused with her request. "What?"

She sighs. 'Never mind'.

"Just tell him what you want. I'll pretend that I'm not here."

'I just..' She sighs, looking a the floor. 'You made me human. You made me feel like a person, not just...whatever i am. And that terrified me. thats why i did what i did....ad the second i choice, i realised i had chosen wrong. but it was too late. Hell....i know you didnt love me, not like you loved her, but you still...' she shakes her head. 'I didnt know what i was without you there.'

He let the words sink in while Ahriman stayed silent.

'I'm sorry...' he whispered. 'I kinda wish that I could have loved you the way you loved me, but I just...can't. You're like a little sister to me and that would probably hurt you like hell to know that but it's the truth.' He sighed. 'Damn. Now I really feel like an asshole.'

Death relayed everything to her that was said.
