So only one thing can sum up my feelings toward this...

*Listen to this while reading*
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1tn9UTHfjo

What's this? What's this?
There's brainwork everywhere
What's this?
There's newness in the air
What's this?
I can't believe my eyes
I must be dreaming
Wake up, Crouch, this isn't fair
What's this?

What's this? What's this?
There's something that’s reborn
What's this?
A film without scorn

What's this?
The script will leave
Lots of People laughing
It just makes me oh so happy
Have I possibly gone daffy?
What is this?

Hollywood’s applying efforts
No laziness to dread
They're busy fixing errors
Creativity is not dead
There's thought in every frame
Oh, I can't believe my eyes
And in my bones I feel the warmth
That's coming from inside

Oh, look
What's this?
They're pitching their idea, green lite?
Because it’s so unique, inspired
They're gathering us all around to hear their story
Watching screens in a theater
What's this?

What's this?
In here we'll get a little glee, how queer
And who would ever think
And why?
They've finally made a good idea,
No remakes or Madea,
And there'll be smile on everyone
So, now, correct me if I'm wrong
This looks so good
This looks so good
Oh, could it be I got my wish?
What's this?

Oh my, what now?
The team is not asleep
But look, their work is not complete
No Bay, no Shyamalan here to dull, offend
Or annoy, only little smart things
Secure in their dreamland
What's this?

The repetition is missing,
the boredom can't be found
And in their place there seems to be
Good feeling all around
Instead of groans, I swear
Audiences hear music in the air
The smell of genius
is absolutely everywhere

The sights, the sounds
They're beautiful and all around
I've never felt so good before
This empty place inside of me is filling up
I simply cannot get enough
I’ll watch it, oh, I’ll watch it
Oh, I’ll watch it on my own
I've got to know
I've got to know
What is this film that I have found?
What is this?

*Ahem* Yep...

So I learned something interesting today! So you know the guy who plays Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamil?

Apparently he was at one time a roommate with Robert Englund aka Freddy Kruegar! In fact Robert was the one who even told Mark about the Star Wars gig that would ultimately propel him into stardom!

So yeah, Freddy Kruegar is essentially the person we have to thank (or in my case, blame) for the fall of the Empire and recreation of the jedi order... o.o mindfuck.

Just imagine this. Freddy Kruegar and Luke Skywalker sitting on a couch eating pizza. Sign me up for that party please.

So I saw this Star Wars March Madness bracket where people voted on who would win in a fight between two characters. It's separated into two divisions, light side and dark side. All the choices on the light side are completely accurate so good job there. But one choice on the dark side I'm seriously peeved about...

So according to the internet, Darth Maul could defeat Sidious... *seethes*

All the Problems with this Decision:
1. Sidious trained Maul, and purposely did in such a way where he was no more than a Sith assassin rather than a true apprentice like Dooku or Vader. So he may pose a serious threat to jedi knights and such, but not against a seasoned Sith Lord.

2. Maul by comparison to Sidious is hopelessly outmatched in terms of force abilities. Sure Maul's got the basics down pat, but he has no knowledge of the deeper mysteries of the dark side like Sidious has.

3. Sidious is the culmination of Sith growth. Every sith before him was basically a preview to Sidious's opening night, and all sith after him were just trying to keep up to him. By compare, Maul was just an errand boy. His only real significant impact on the galaxy was revealing to the Jedi order that the Sith weren't as dead as they thought.

4. Sidious is every bit Maul's match physically. I know this is a tough pill to swallow, but it's true. Sidious wasn't as decrepit as he made himself out to be. He only used the cane he does in episode 6 as a deception , to fool people into thinking he was the frail old man he looked like. In truth, he could've done summersaults out of his throne if he wanted.

5. Sidious is more cunning than Maul. He is a lot more strategic and thinks his fights out well in advance. Maul on the other hand clearly has some knowledge of maneuvering his opponents, but that's about the only trick he has.

6. Sidious is far from afraid to draw on his force powers. Maul is. He only used the force like an extra tool, not refining it into the deadly weapon sidious has.

*goes on for several more hours*

So hey zombie fans out there! I just saw Night of the Living Dead last night and loved it! Having become an avid fan of the Walking Dead I could help but notice a lot of similarities thematically but also some stark differences. While the Walking Dead walkers are certainly scarier looking on account of our increased capabilities, it seemed to me like the zombies in Night of the Living Dead would actually pose more of a threat. After all they have a small amount of self preservation left, are capable of using tools and seem to have thought left.

It surprised me that two different zombie sources could have such different interpretations of them. So it made me wonder.

What's your favorite interpretation of zombie?

SO I got (EXTREMELY) bored at work and decided to spend the plethora of time being underutilized to think on Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics.

For those of you unfamiliar with it, they are basically three laws programmed into sentient level robots to prevent things like the Matrix or a Terminator uprising from happening.

The three laws are:

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law

Pretty airtight laws right? Very little room for interpretation. However as I tried to think of possible loopholes to these laws (only one came to mind, possibly two), one odd thought entered my head.
Would the first law prevent surgical robots?
By all technicality, one does have to harm a human to perform certain surgeries. Granted it's controlled harm that marginalized if not negated by painkillers or being knocked out for it but would that still violate the first law? And by extension, if it doesn't violate the first law, does that mean that so long as the human didn't feel pain a robot could do as it wished?

If so, then all the Terminators would need to do is fill the world with painkiller and then they could take over the planet without worry!

Three Laws, possibly busted!

o.o this is why you never give me time. I do shit like this with it.

Robots wouldn't be able to perform surgeries because they lack the logic to see past those three Laws. And, yes, surgery does cause harm to humans, but in the end it fixes them. However, a robot with those three laws programed into them wouldn't be able to see past the physical harm to the end product. Thus, they wouldn't be able to perform surgeries.

If robotics are (still) used in medical procedures like surgeries in that 'Verse then they'd have to be strictly non-intelligent assisting robotics like we have nowadays.

Yeah that's probably right. I guess the only way a quintessential robot society could work is a mix of Three Law and Non-Three Laws programmed robots.

Who's REALLY to Blame?

Ever watch a movie, something horrible happens and you think to yourself 'Who's to Blame here?'

Well here I'm thinking of doing a series where I examine that! My first analysis?

Jurassic Park's Isla Nublar Incident.

Who We Blame: Dennis Nedry
Who's ACTUALLY to blame: Ingen's architect.

Why: Granted Dennis knocked out the security systems but if the doors didn't have handles a Velociraptor could easily open then the death toll could've easily been cut in half. If he just picked out round doorknobs, several people on the island could've gotten off alive. Dennis may have been the spark but the architect was the powder keg that exploded.

I'm gonna be putting the blame on the idiot who decided it'd be a good idea to even create the Velociraptor.

Yeah they probably should've reconsidered the whole velociraptor thing when they found out these details:
1. Killed an employee before the park opened
2. Could afford to make the Trex's (the fucking TREX's) enclosure less secure than theirs
3. Had to literally block the view of velociraptor from the general public.
4. Found out they were testing the electrical fences for weak spots.

Hell I would've stopped funding Jurassic Park after #1 if I was an investor!

Overall: FUCKING LOVE IT! It has all the iconic shots from the original trilogy and some new and improved shot techniques from modern times. The iconic cast is back together and it looks like some crazy shit is going to go on!

Theories:
0:26 : I almost wonder if that's Raxus Prime, where Starkiller dropped a Star Destroyer out of the sky. But that could just be fallout from the Galactic Civil War so that one is a shot in the dark.

0:36-Onward: Is Luke talking to his son or something? If so does that mean that Mara Jade is in this?

1:11 : Who the hell is that?! He's wearing a mask very similar to Darth Vindican from the MMO but he was clearly cut down before any of this even started. So does that mean he's from the resurgent Sith Empire?

1:13 : This is my only complaint. Why are the stormtroopers helmets different? The empire wouldn't have time to create new uniforms after their collapse.
