I look down, defeated, turning away, resisting the threat of tears in my eyes, "I hate you..." I whisper, walking away.

How can I actually even live? All I do is cause people pain and misery. I bet half of humanity wants me to apologise for being alive, and I have but for them...that wouldn't be enough.

I heard someone else coming towards the Lake, I vaguely looked up and recognized him as someone I had helped out before.
The short memory of how I barely helped at all came back and I sighed, letting the little crab in my palm crawl into the water.

I cringe as I watch the life get drained from them
