The Owlery

"I don't know..." I look up at Crest.

"We will let you know."

I smile brightly. "Great!"

"I think we've told everyone now, we just need to actually do it."

I smile, "I'm excited..."

"It should be good for us all."

Crest had resumed his studies of the 'Pitch' creature, learning some interesting facts from text that goes back centuries before his bith.

Topher: "Let's see, if I were a die-hard loner, where would I go to study?"

Cynder, glancing to Topher and steadying her frail figure, smirked.

"A place where other witty creatures might be, perhaps? Think he's up here in the Owlry, Toph..?"

Topher: "It's as good a place as any to start, I guess..."

Crest: Two voice. One male, one female. Neither were of physical threat, they were most likely agile.

A nod, the young woman held her hands behind her back and glanced about, raising her voice as she wandered forward, to perhaps find the familiar boy.
"Crest Strayer...? Are you here, by any chance? It's Cyn and Top..~"

"What do you want?" I ask him without any kind of greeting or even warmness to their presence.

"Stony as always, I see."

Cynder gave a sigh, looking toward the source of the voice.
"We need help, Crest. You're still looking in on Pitch, right? He attacked just a bit of time ago. Left both of us a little beaten and shaken. We were hoping you could find something for us."

"That being?"

"Something to remind him of who he was. The Good General. You read that, yet? Pitch Black once used to be a General in the Golden Ages. I was hoping... hoping you could help us find something to remind him of his humanity."

The girl looked quietly to Crest, then to Topher.
"Please, Crest. He did awful things... and that may be the only way to save him."

I nod my head and start walking downstairs without a second word.

Cynder made no attempt after Crest, and smiled to Topher.

She called to the leaving opposite with a grin. "Thank you, Strayer~ I owe you one!"

Returning to the exact same spot with drips of melted snow on his face, the young and strong Crest returned to his friends.

Cynder saw Crest immediately, perking up and looking interested.
"Well?"

I take out the locket, walking the golden jewelry to her, holding it by the chain.

The girl looked to the Locket in confusion, eyebrows raising as she glanced to Crest.
"Well, it's no heirloom, but it looks interesting enough. Is it tied with- with Pitch?"

"Look inside of it" I order of her like a drill sergeant to a recruit I was just breaking in.

The girl gave Crest a 'are you fucking kidding me?' sort of look and rolled her eyes.

"Settle down, no need to shout."

Reaching to the Locket, she took it from crest and opened up the cold trinket.
Inside was a picture of a girl with stunning raven hair and a gentle face.
An almost familiar face.

"... is that-...?"

Crest: "Yes... yes that is."

Topher: "ummm... anyone care to fill Captain Clueless in here?" I wave my hands to both of them.

Cynder offered Topher the locket, so he might see the image of the little girl.

"Pitch's daughter."
