The Kitchens

The kitchen is located directly under the Great Hall, down the staircase leading to the Hufflepuff Basement.

In the corridor outside, one will find a painting of a bowl of fruit; one such fruit is a pear. If one tickles the pear, it will squirm, laugh, and then transform into a green door-knob. Hence revealing the doorway, one can open the door and enter.

The kitchen is a gigantic, high-ceilinged room with five tables identical to the ones in the Great Hall above; they are also in the exact same position. There are large quantities of pots and pans heaped around the stone walls, presumably on counter-tops or stoves, and a large brick fireplace at the other end of the hall from the door.

She stood with Topher by the painting of the fruit bowl her hand reaching out to tickle the pear before the door swung open.

"I'll tell you, the Hufflpuffs got it good. Easy route for midnight snackin'." I laugh at my own stupid joke.

She grinned the small elves bowing to them, but they already knew Sapphire was here to cook for herself, a few looked as though they might try to force some food on Toph. She smirked "it is pretty convenient for them.. so what are you in the mood for? Savoy? sweet?.. anything particular just let me know."

"Savory I guess." Don't get a lot of that on the streets.

She grinned "always easy.. guys like steak and I make it awesome." the words had barely left her mouth before the supplies she needed appeared on the counter next to her, she pointed for him to sit as she already started chopping certain ingredients while sizzling sounds started to fill the air.

"Ya sure ya don't want a hand there?"

"No way.. I'm making you lunch.. besides I find cooking very soothing honestly." she smiled brightly her hands moving lightning fast across the area she was working.

"Alright then!" I sit back wondering in my head how it would be. To help sate the curiosity I take a whiff of the air into my nostrils.

It seemed to take her no time to turn out the most tender steak she had ever made, it was seasoned to perfection with a creamy white wine sauce drizzled over it. She set it in front of him "you're going to love this."

"Holy crap! This looks incredible!" I had yet to see any food that could look so damn good. If I didn't know any better, I'd think this was stolen art.

She smiled brightly a bit proud of her cooking "wait till you taste it.. it's even better than it looks"

I take out the knife and fork and cut a decent size piece of it and put it in my mouth and immediately was blown away by an explosion of flavor. If Gods had chiefs I was convinced, Saphire was one of them,

"Holy mother of god..."

She grinned turning her chair to straddle it across from him "I know! I just started throwing ingredients together one night and this is what i came up with."

"This... is... ungodly good! Honestly ya could make a killin' as a chief!"

She smiled her eyes sparkling happily "It's more of a hobby really.. It cheers me up.. food has to be made with the right emotion.. I know that sounds weird, but if it isn't everything just tastes average or bland."

"Really?" I honestly had no idea about cooking outside of put it in the microwave and out pops the goods.

She made a face "oh Topher.. you have been missing out on some magic... I'm going to have to cook for you more often." she grinned

"Keep doin' it like this and I might have to take you up on that!" I smile gratefully at her

"oh that's just the start.. wait until you try one of my desserts.. they're like a mouthgasm."

"I eagerly await, man I think my mom could hire you!"

"tempting, but I only share my delicious treats with friends." she beamed

"If you insist Emeril..." I joke with her as I stand up and wipe my mouth after finishing the last morsel.

She giggled "I'm just picky about who gets the yummyness"

"Well it may shock you to know I give a hell of a back rub.."
